I really don't understand all the discussion about whether this or that player is or isn't going to the NBA. I find the NBA boring compared to college basketball, and the only effect it has on my life is whether it means I'm not going to watch someone on my team very long (eg, Greg, probably Otto). There have been many, many players I have loved watching in college (Chris Wright, for instance) who didn't have the right body and skill set for the NBA. Who cares?

That's the point. It's being discussed because early departures have a significant impact on the balance of power across the college landscape. That's why it's being discussed. To see who is returning or leaving. That's relevant to any program that wants to be in the national title hunt.

This team needs to figure out ways to get to the line also.. But we were taking it to the hoop, playing in the paint and rebounding. How else do we force going to the line? If the refs don't call it, what else is the team supposed to do (other than continue to play that way)?

Good sign that everyone seems to be peaking now - cause it's February! They may surprise us yet when all is said and done.

Does anybody else agree with me that a) Whittington's absence forced JTIII to give minutes faster than he wanted to players like DSR and to focus the offense more on Starks and Porter asserting themselves without worrying about how many passes we made before doing so, and b) the fact that it required a player suspension for III to find out that doing this could be successful, is a mild indictment of III's historical reluctance to trust young players.

Looks like Garret? and Bowen got into it. Bowen was supppper heated was trying to sprint back into the fray Nate basically tackled him out of the way. No idea how it started. I had started walking out of Verizon and turned around to see the fracas. Hopefully nothing comes of it

I think it's just as possible that the worst home defeat in however many years was just as much a catalyst for this change as losing our second best player.

Great game and Mr. Lubick, great job. After watching the CBS stream, I clearly need to get some Reeboks come Feb. 1 and maybe a Rav4. And know some more people around 100 years old.

Othella was yelling at the St. John's players to stop. Nate corralled Aaron to keep him jumping back into the fray. It all happened fast and was over in a few seconds. Not sure what the Johnnies were going to accomplish with jawing and pushing on our home court. Glad it didn't go Bayi Rockety...

He's making quite a name for himself in the D league

That's an intriguing possibility. It undoubtedly forced him to make some changes. Jabril seems the most immediate beneficiary in terms of minutes, with DSR also getting more time. Bowen and a little bit of Caprio (John: please don't touch the 3-point shooter, 'K?) are now in the mix. Maybe Markel has had to become more of a shooter as well as facilitator. And it's been working out swell. For whatever reasons, we seem to be now a better team than when Greg was playing. I think our *scheme* looks the most different, though, on defense. Our zone isn't nearly as effective as when Greg was in, so we press and go for steals, playing a more aggressive (but riskier) defensive style. We were becoming really good at the zone, too. I think now we may be a little better offensively and not quite as good defensively.

Trawick and he was allegedly involved in the scuffle according to a st. john's fan but they could have just confused him and bowen since they both wear the arm sleeve.

That makes sense HSB, Garrett didn't look happy with Jabril in the final minute of the game. I'd hate it if he weren't on G'town but I do love the way Jabril gets under the skin of opponents..
