His SEC roots? What? As I recall, Pitino coached in the Big East (and elsewhere, including the NBA) well before he was coaching in the SEC. I like seeing Syracuse have to travel more than a hundred miles. Ha, ha. But omitting Louisville from the series is definitely puzzling. They asked to be excluded. That's interesting. I wonder why - no open spots on the schedule?

Perhaps we just have different interpretations of what his roots means. I would consider his roots to be his early head coaching jobs, ergo BU and Providence. He was obviously already well established as a coach when UK hired him - or they wouldn't have hired him.

we'll know when Duke announces their schedule, as we are aware, there is nothing ever announced by GU before somerone else does it.

No duke this year. However, expect one more game at a neutral site against a big time opponent. We have one heck of a schedule and a lot to be excited about.

Georgetown coach John Thompson III said his team will be ready for a challenging slate of games (Florida in Jacksonville, Texas in New York, Tennessee in DC, UCLA and or Indiana in Brooklyn). Thompson said he feels very comfortable his underclassmen will excel, led by Otto Porter. "This group can handle it," Thompson III said. The Hoyas did lose Henry Sims and Hollis Thompson but JT3 isn't worried about a major dip of any sort. He sound like this team will be a major factor in the Big East. espn.go.com/blog/collegebasketballnation/tag/_/name/katz-3-point-shot

The schedule is really shaping up to allow for early season surprising success, followed by an average big east season and an early round exit in the NCAAs. Where have I seen this before...

It was a joke about how it seems like it happens that way every year. Clearly half a schedule doesnt tell me much about how a team will perform. Anyway, the NHL Sched comes out tomorrow so that will give a better picture to which dates are left open.

I am just as optimistic as JTIII about this team. Will definitely challenge for Big East Championship, go deep in NCAA tourney. We lost three quality starters, but replacements are more than adequate. Program will continue to reload with exciting recruits...... We Are Georgetown!!!

One other plus - this schedule should certainly motivate the players to work as hard as they can this summer and from Midnight Madness to the opening tip.
