No it was not confirmed that this was a Verizon issue, it was asserted as such by the same people who always assert that every negative outcome reflects a Verizon problem. Kentucky is not playing Georgetown because Kentucky was afraid to play Georgetown. Pretty sure it was confirmed. You have a source for your claim? 1.) Show me any sort of confirmation that it was a Verizon issue. 2.) I have multiple sources close to the program who say it was not a Verizon issue. 3.) We have a Friday night date to play Tennessee at Verizon. Kentucky is playing Thursday night at ND. Does that sound like an insurmountable schedule problem?

I'll take TN at home. At least we are talking about a reputable big conference team.

Of course Pitt was not excluded because of the lawsuit. The conference would NEVER do that! ;)Pederson can go suck an orange if he has a problem with it, hopefully Gavitt reminded him that the Continental Army did not reward Benedict Arnold for trying to help the British capture West Point.

Will the students be back from Thanksgiving break on Nov 30? Crap. Really good question....anyone? Only if they're real fans. ***** Thanksgiving is the 22nd. Our students have become absolute and total bums if they're not back for a game on the following Friday.

yeah novermber has 5 friday's this year so Thanksgiving is actually the week before. Students will be there.
The only source for the Verizon Center being the issue is a Kentucky blog. I too have heard that Kentucky did not want to play us in DC. We'll never know the truth though.
Tennessee returns their best players from a surprisingly good team. They're a borderline top 25 team to start the year according to ESPN. They're definitely an NCAA tournament team. Maymon and Stokes are both very good. Another good OOC test for the Hoyas.
Texas, Tennessee, and 2 out of 3 of UCLA, Indiana, Georgia.
Not shabby at all.

I thought it was confirmed that UK at Verizon wouldn't happen b/c of Verizon issues. No it was not confirmed that this was a Verizon issue, it was asserted as such by the same people who always assert that every negative outcome reflects a Verizon problem. Kentucky is not playing Georgetown because Kentucky was afraid to play Georgetown. This is all 100% correct and HoyaChris' sources are impeccable.

Different question--Does Tennessee become the best opponent on the home schedule before conference play?

Tennessee would have been a lot more entertaining if Bruce Pearl was still the coach...

Georgetown should have a talent advantage and should be favorite to win. Martin's team will play hard and smart...... Louisville should replace Syracuse at Arkansas. Louisville would have more fans traveling and Petino would return to his SEC roots.

As I recall, Pitino coached in the Big East (and elsewhere, including the NBA) well before he was coaching in the SEC. I like seeing Syracuse have to travel more than a hundred miles. Ha, ha. But omitting Louisville from the series is definitely puzzling.
