When was the last time JTIII got a technical? The other phantom technical - in the East Regional Final in 2007 from Curtis Shaw.

Aside from the "not built for comebacks" comment, the "overseeded" comment based on ESPN's made-up BPI, and the stupidity of over/under-appreciation (which means what?), there's nothing really wrong with that analysis in general. A 70/30 chance of us winning? That seems pretty reasonable. And our turnovers issues and their 3 pt proficiency are potential problems. We need to own the boards, play calm and smart. We should win, but Belmont is a good team and it's not like an "upset" would be an historic event. Shouldn't we be pretty pleased with a 70% chance of winning? I am. Though in McBrick's head, I am putting the odds at 100%. No doubt. ;D Yes, although I bet the 3/14 historically is closer to 20% or lower. But maybe I'm wrong. Either way though, if we lose, the reaction and meltdown of the fans won't be like they just rolled craps -- it'll be THIS IS A TRAVESTY! NO ONE SHOULD EVER LOSE TO BELMONT! I do think there's a lot of reasons to think they could upset us -- and a lot of reasons to think that might be a misguided thought. After the last few years, I'm nervous as hell. Hopefully the players aren't.

Our horses vs. theirs and we bash them. Novel concept for you im sure, LD. So by extension you would rather have Belmont's coach than III. Got it.

More to the point, Andy Glockner at Sport Illustrated (who watches CBB way more closely than Davis does) says he fills out his bracket in about 30 seconds because it is such a toss up.

This guy: goo.gl/tVTZHis likely to have more bracket success than Seth Davis.

When's the last time Belmont faced a legit opponent? They lost their first game of the year by 1 to Duke, then by 16 to Memphis.

When's the last time Belmont faced a legit opponent? They lost their first game of the year by 1 to Duke, then by 16 to Memphis. But they stayed close in that Memphis game until the last 5-6 minutes. So, naturally, they'll blow the doors off the Hoyas.

Seth Davis picks Belmont to go to the Sweet 16 A bunch of "experts" on that page on cnnsi picked Belmont -- including a few brackets where they go to the Sweet 16.

As a fan, it is weird seeing us touted as the favorite but being treated like the underdog. I hope that the guys have their blinders on and just play ball.
They should approach this game like a bank robber planning a heist - have a plan, execute, and leave all the baggage behind for an easy getaway.

I really would love to have a USF-style demolition of Belmont. I think for all us who have endured the ups and downs of the season, it would be a nice gift to fans to give us a blowout where we can be resting calm with 5 minutes remaining on the clock.

the lack of respect we've received this week has been disgusting Jon Rothstein has G'town in his final 4. He loves the teams length & defense.

Even if it comes with a completely frustrating first half in which nobody scores and the game could really go either way?

My thing with these pundits is who has Belmont beaten to warrant such high level discussion? Their best wins are to two NIT teams, Middle Tenn State and Marshall. I look at a team like Long Beach State or Harvard and at least I can say they beat some BCS conference teams. Even if they got past the Hoyas how do you pick them again against another real team? I just do not get the fascination with Belmont I guess.
I hope we clamp down and smother them into their worst offensive game in 5 years while Henry creates a lay-up line for himself and our cutters.

So he liked Belmont last year too? And Oakland in the Sweet 16 - okay then.
