Still think he ends up back with the Celtics next season. They're paying for the surgery, rehab, etc. This was a sign of goodwill, and I think Jeff really wants to be a part of this team, which explains why he'll be spending the spring around the Celtics post-surgery. As a Celtics fan, I certainly hope he comes back. He hasn't gotten a chance to show Boston what he's capable of, which in my opinion (and probably the opinion of many on this board) is a lot. Good luck in surgery Jeff, and get well soon! I was thinking that originally but it seems like Brandon Bass has stepped in and done everything the Celtics wanted from Jeff. Either way, best of recovery and we know he will work for every spot and opportunity.

I think they mainly want Jeff to be able to spell Pierce and eventually replace him in the starting lineup at the 3. Bass is now playing the Glen Davis role (about a million times better than Glen Davis did). It probably wouldn't be uncommon to see them go to a small lineup with Bass at the 5 and Jeff at the 4 next year.

Greg seemed to be the only player half way alive yesterday in the Piston's loss, as he went for 22-7 with a few blocks and assists. Roy went for 11-12 in the Pacers win vs the Celtics.

Dajuan Summers made his Hornets debut Monday night after sitting out the first 8 games with a knee injury.
He has 9 points in 10 minutes so far tonight against the Thunder.

Roy looked like he was back at Georgetown getting 4 assists, some very nice backdoor cuts. He also had 4 blocks, 12 pts, 11 rebs.

This idiot has Greg at #2 but then claims he won't make many All-Star teams and isn't a star. Why? Because he doesn't jump out of the gym? In this day and age when big guys who can PLAY BIG in the middle are rare, Greg is the ultimate guy to have on your team. He doesn't get enough respect because he is not flashy enough. The same goes for Roy who is so far having his best season. It is funny how Pacers fans will claim Roy is not getting due praise as an All-Star contender and the Pistons fans are claiming the same for Greg, but neither fans recognize the other guy. By that I mean Pacers fans don't see Greg as a competitor for an All-Star selection at center and Pistons fans don't see Roy as one either. When they get pass their own big man both fanbases resort to picking the flashy, less efficient bigs as alternative choices. With Al Horford out for the season (in part to the play of Mr. Hibbert) Roy and Greg have the potential to be selected as an All-Star reserve by the coaches who recognize the important things not leaping ability (see: J. McGee). Greg will likely have the better numbers. He has to. Detroit is horrible and he is arguably the team's only good player as of now. But Roy plays for the more successful team, a team some Pacers fans think he is the early season MVP of.

But, let's remember, as the Inside Pulse article referenced a few posts ago points out, "Monroe won’t be on many All Star Teams and isn’t a star"

If Monroe can improve on the number's he's posting now, (18 and 9, with great FG%) over the next few years, even a little bit, to about 20 and 10, he'll be playing in all-star games. No doubt about it.
