NBA.com has nightly +/- stats. Last night's best five (of 11 NBA games): Jeff Green, Big Baby Davis, Delonte West, Von Wafer, Jermaine O'Neal +18; Best four: Green, Davis, O'Neal, Wafer +21 Best three: Green, Davis, Wafer +25 Best two: Green and Wafer +27
Yet the Celtics lost because the bench kept giving back the lead. Troy Murphy was -25.

Quoting Summers: "I've been putting in a lot of individual work, so I feel like I'm taking steps in the right direction." I hope it's with Dennis Rodman. He needs to help his (next) team with rebounding.

Greg Monroe finished out his rookie season with another double-double. Even Summers had 10 pts last night for the Pistons.
Roy/Jeff/Pat are moving onto the playoffs.

I went to the Mavs-Hornets game last night Got to see Pat play, Unfortunately, not much good to report He played a little over 6 minutes in the fourth quarter during which time the Hornets were outscored 35-15. In fact they were outscored 63-28 in the second half. His stats were 0-2 shooting, 1 assist and 0 rebounds. He also had a turnover they charged to someone else. Since most of the time he was in there, was garbage time his teammates weren't looking to pass to him or include him in the offense!! Corey Brewer hit 2 threes for the Mavs during that time not sure Pat was responsible for that. Hope he and Djuan keep working hard and congrats to Greg

Pat made 3rd team all NBADL---and just glad he was on Hornets/going to Playoffs instead of being in D-League Playoffs.
Greg had a great 2nd half of season and happy for him---especially since he never got the ball--most of his production came from hard work and putbacks-because the Pistons were a "get mine" group of volume shooters/disgruntled vets.

Greg will be a cornerstone of the rebuilding of that team.

I'd LOVE to see Roy blow up in these playoffs and really introduce himself to the national NBA audience.

Watched "the Association" last night which is the season long documentary about the celtics on espn. A good part of it focused on Jeff and the trade for Perkins. Showed his parents and GIRLFRIEND!!!!!!said how Ray ALlen was the first person to approach him after the trade and gives clips of them working out together. Really hoping he has a breakout post season!

A win today by the Pacers would be huge. Hope Roy has a big fourth quarter.

Derrick Rose happened.
As for Roy, foul trouble took its toll.

They also went to him once in the fourth quarter. He drew a foul and sank a free throw.
Other than some great contributions form Psycho T, most plays at the end put their 7'2"center at the top of the key setting picks for Granger, who would be double (or triple) teamed and could not get the ball to anyone. I guess Granger is your go to guy, but he is a streaky shooter who could still work on making his teammates better.

Foul trouble didn't really get to Roy. Maybe the coach rested him too long. Anyway he was a presence defensively on the inside except for a few times in which he went "!ole" and moved out the way to allow Rose and another dude go all the way to the hole.
As for the screens he at times set the most useless screens in the world. He needs to get in the paint more. Unfortunately the Pacers can't seem to ever get it to him at the right moments. This is probably a combination of the Pacers not trying hard enough, the Pacers not having enough players good at passing from the perimeter into the paint (unfortunately for Roy he may be the best on the team at doing that) and Roy not establishing good enough position long enough for his teammates to get it to him. The coach needs to do something about that but Roy needs to be more demanding as well.
Its tempting to say the Pacers should have gotten Roy the ball more because if he gets it going the Bulls wouldn't be able to stop him. But Roy has to prove he is a reliable finisher enough to make himself more of an attractive option. However the Indiana offense runs more smoothly in the halfcourt when Roy has get the rock. This is better option in tight games than Granger fighting around screens or taking guys off the dribble to get off his jumpshot. Roy is a willing passer (maybe too willing). So if you throw it in to him there is a high chance he'll give the ball up for a (mostly) better shot.
Pacers had that game and blew it. Period. That has to sting.
