Still hate that trade for Celtics-and it's effected their standing now too-they are tied with Bulls for homecourt and Bulls have far easier schedule down stretch. Losing to Clippers at home and NJ on the road, scoring under 90 pts 3 games in a row, and still waiting for those old geezer/stiffs to return/be counted on--not good. Get it going--because there is nothing more sickening then any image of those jerkoffs in Miami celebrating. Boston's trade doesn't make feel good about that-and don't want to rely on Bulls and their youth at this point. Not sure how you can blame the trade for those losses - Perkins hasn't been able to play a single game in OKC and now Nate Robinson is out, too, so Green and Krstic have given them way more than they have given up for the short term. The bigger problem has been that Rondo seems totally worn down right now - Arroyo can help with that, but the no. 1 seed is flying away - Bulls schedule makes it nearly impossible to stay ahead. Perkins played last night and where's Shaq? If you are relying on his old behind--he better be playing before the better player at this stage-which is Perkins. Arroyo sucks--that was garbage pickup and why Ainge has altered roster so much is baffling. Kristic can score--but he's doing it in same manner as always--soft/face up. He's a lousy defensive player. Rondo is fine--just tough for him when he's got to defend a very good opposing PG--but it doesn't explain why Kris Humphries is putting up 16 and 15--that guy is average. This is time of year you have to get into gear and start gearing for Playoffs and Shaq is doing what old players do--breakdown, talk big, and won't be able to contribute in manner he says/Ainge buys into. It's important for Boston to be 1 seed to avoid possible Heat matchup in 2nd Round--which means Heat then Bulls in ECF instead of having to face Magic and then Bulls or Heat.

Wrong board for this convo, and I missed that Perk was back in OKC, but even if you concede Celts would have won last night with Perk (I do not - they have been awful on back to backs all year long), there were still several other games they would have lost without Green and Krstic - @ Utah, vs. Golden St. and @ Milwaukee all would have been likely losses with the short bench. I won't argue the larger point that they are in trouble as 2 (or worse, 3) seed in the East, but I don't see how the trade changes anything in that discussion - they need to get healthy, and if they weren't going to get healthy Kendrick Perkins was not going to make the difference.

Roy had 15 points, 12 rebounds, 5 assists, 3 blocks in Pacers 119-117 win over Knicks.
He had 8 points, 2 rebounds, and a big block of Stoudemire in the last 3:30 of the game.

Roy v Jeff tonight at the Garden. Should be a good prelude to USC/VCU.

And yet Roy still took to Twitter to apologize to the fans for the jumper he missed at 1:11..."Want 2 apologize 2 the fans of indy. I fell prey 2 being tired n took a turn around jumper late n the fourth. Bad shot. Had em on the ropes." He's the man.
The Garden, huh? Strange that they're playing the Pacers/Celts game in New York...

The TD Garden, formerly Boston Garden is the home of the Boston Celtics, holders of 17 NBA championships. And MSG s the home of the New York Knicks, holders of how many? Excuse my faux pas.

Will be very, very interesting to see what happens with Roy after his contract expires(assuming The League can avoid the labor death march that the NFL is pursuing right now). I suspect Roy is a very loyal guy who would give the Pacers every chance to keep him, especially if they continue to show improvement, but there are a number of contenders who could use a man in the middle like Roy(any chance the Celts got rid of Perkins - and brought in Jeff - with the thought of making a big play for Hibbs??).

It would be great to see them in green together but the Boston media say the Celts are looking for Dwight Howard when and if he becomes a free agent.

I see Dwight in New York or LA if he leaves Orlando, but nowhere else - Boston isn't glamorous enough for that show pony. That said, I doubt Roy ends up in Boston either - will probably be too expensive at that point, unless KG decides to hang em up after next year.

Pacers @ Celtics is also the 30 year anniversary celebration for the announcing team of Mike Gorman and Tommy Heinsohn. Instead of sending flowers, NBA celebrating by having Violet Palmer ref the game.

Jeff with 17 points at the half. Best thing ever was for him is that he is now playing his true position alongside a true point guard. Lead the way jeff.
( Roy only has 2 at the half.)

You beat me to the punch, bandg. Big first half for Jeff. Roy in foul trouble - 3 fouls in 9 minutes. I wonder if any of those fouls were on Jeff.
