I guess not unexpected given Daye's longer tenure. I thought GM would be at C for them, though. Don't follow much preseason NBA, so I didn't know Ben Wallace has had a little resurgence. Banging around with him should only help Greg in long run. One of the bloggers on that Yahoo page had less than flattering things to say about both Hoyas on the Pistons. bit.ly/9Iw1wF

Greg's gotta shoot better than 40%. That being said, how is Austin Daye going to defend 4's? He's like 180 lbs.

MCI - the point is that the Pistons favor Daye at PF right now, which is why Monroe will come off the bench. Or not come off the bench. Based on the box score looks like both Monroe and Summers are getting a DNP tonight for the Pistons. Jeff has 16 at half time for the Thunder. Roy has 12 with a couple mins left in the 2nd quarter for the Pacers.

Roy is taking over - blocking shots and knocking down jumpers.

I actually sat through the better part of Nets/Pistons hoping to see Greg (or DaJuan) play. Didn't happen.
Jeff and especially Roy are playing well though. I really think this could be a big year for Roy, and he's earned it by working his ass off.

On consecutive possessions in the third quarter, Roy set a pick and pop and buried 21-foot jumpers without zero hesitation, the second of which caused Pop to call a timeout.
Looks awfully impressive tonight with Duncan guarding him in the post.

I don't want Roy becoming a jumpshooter. Needs to add the use of the glass to his post moves in the paint. Dunking it once or so a game would be nice too.

Monster game for Hibbert:
28 pts. 9 rbs. (4 offensive) 3 asts 3 blocks 10-17 fg 8-8 ft
Pacers blew it in the 4th though.

Caught some of the Pacers game and Roy was awesome! Very diverse on the offensive end, kept the fouls mostly under control, and just stood out all game long. Incredible how far he has come physically from the kid who struggled to run the court his freshman year. He'll go down as my favorite Hoya just because how hard he has worked to turn himself into an excellent NBA player.
Pacers are pretty awful though. They will lose a lot of games. Granger is a good scorer, and then they have two tiny, quick PGs in Collison and Ford who can play, but it's a wasteland after that.

On Monroe, hopefully the Pistons figure out sooner than later that Austin Daye, while talented, cannot play the 4 in the NBA while weighing about 200 pounds (especially with a 6'7'' center in Ben Wallace). Better to get Charlie V and Greg in there at the 4 and go big with Daye/Prince at the 3. You could even slide Tayshaun to the 2 depending on matchups and go gigantic (Stuckey, Prince, Daye, Monroe/Charlie V/Wallace/Maxiell).

This! Roy is the poster child of Big Man U. His hard work during the season included practicing with Julian. Basically, Roy took Julian under his wing. A win-win situation for all... I'm with Lic in that Julian will surprise. Next year for Roy: Project Henry. Indiana needs more talent around him.

Did you see the game? It's just a reflexive reaction from MCI. Don't pay any attention to him. I don't think there's any possibility that Roy will turn into an away from the basket, face up big man.

Bull spit the Sportscenter highlights for the pacers game is that Duncan dominates and they didn't show Roy scoring at all nor did they mention him. and in another segment where they were talking about the highest scorers of the opening games they said and down at the bottom is a name you won't be seeing on this list very often: Roy Hibbert who scored 28 in a loss to SA. No respect what so ever.
