Well done. Keep it up Chris. You're a ton of fun to watch play and improve game by game and I hope you reap every reward that you so richly deserve for having made the choices that you've made. You're exactly what Georgetown basketball should be about. HOYA bleeping SAXA! Great post tashoya! Especially your closing (above). Nice to see Chris getting some Hoya love!!

Not to take anything away from Chris and all the work he has certainly put in to become a more complete player, but the adjustments that you speak of aren't exactly altruistic. Chris needed to make those adjustments to have any shot at playing at the next level. I've noted this before - that Chris sometimes seems to be selfishly unselfish in his pursuit of assists. It's fortunate that what is good for Chris and his NBA aspirations - proving that he can be a great floor general - is also exactly what the team needs to be elite. Obviously doesn't always work out that way.

I agree that he has seemed to force some very risky passes to try to pick up an extra assist or two, but I usually notice that when the team is up big and there is little risk.

Obviously doesn't always work out that way. Possibly true but not necessarily. If he were the leading scorer on the team last year and this year, he may get more press than he has. See Walker, Kemba. Granted, Chris and Kemba are not that similar but you get my drift. If, in fact, if he undertook the drastic changes in his game to improve his chances of moving to the next level, it's just as laudable considering the fact that I'd venture that the vast majority of kids would likely ignore the advice to make the changes that Chris did because they're a) not sexy, flashy changes that get you noticed, b) they cause your immediate game to suffer and c) I'm not sure how many kids are willing to put in the amount of work that Chris obviously has as an 18 year old and continuing throughout college.

I actually thought Chris did have some great passes tonight. 6 assists and would have had a lot more if other team members knocked down their shots.

I've never seen a great player in a Hoya uniform so unfairly criticized than Chris Wright...so now that he's getting assists, he's unselfishly selfish?
Sad

No amount of passing overcomes what was basically a 1-11 shooting performance. I'm not saying he's a bad player or even necessarily a bad decision-maker. But he had the worst offensive game of any Hoya tonight.

Bad Chris... I thought we were done with him.
Suck it up and get ready for the next game.

Bad everybody . . . even an uncharacteristic brainfart or two from Austin. Aberration game. Move on. Kill DePaul. Then kill St. John's at the Garden and reset karma.

Other than a few rushed shots, I had no problem with chris' decision making process tonight. Nd did a very good job shutting down passing and driving lanes. When chris did get an open lane, he'd get fouled a moment before his shot attempt to negate continuation. A frustrating night for chris, but it was not for a lack of effort.

Notre Dame got called for some very fortunate fouls that had they not been called would have led to momentum baskets for the Hoyas and ended up leading to nothing. That was probably the most frustrating and uncontrollable aspect of the game.

When the other team plays with 6 players, you keep going at them to get them in foul trouble, not shoot the ineffective 3's.

Chris is a natural talent who has the ability to take over a game and can also turn it around without scoring.

I would assume this year the highest correlation between team wins and individual player success will be Chris Wright. He was off last night and we lost. This will clearly be one of CW's worst games of the season and in a month we will look back on this as a road loss to an excellent team. ND will probably be top 4-5 in the league this year and Top 20 nationally.
Chin up Hoyas. Time to regroup and take the next 3 games. If we do, we will all be feeling quite differently heading into the Pitt game.

prhoya, he was "dead" in the game last night, but it happens less frequently than it used to. As for the pouting, what are you referring to?

If he was "dead", as you say, you stop shooting the 3s and start pounding it inside and get them in foul trouble, not end a possession by hoping to make a 3 and without getting something out of that possession.
Chris has a tendency to pout and slouch his shoulders when he is frustrated or things are not going his way. Check the video.

I didn't see pouting. I saw a bit of frustration.....ie, the one break away we get Hollis overthrows the ball, no continuation calls, a charge late in a game where at home that call goes the other way and chris gets the " and 1". A few plays can really change the complexion of a game.

Let me explain this one up before it's misinterpreted. The pouting and frustration is more with himself than directed towards someone else. In other words, it's similar to athletes that talk/shout to themselves to get pumped up. It's not the Duke/Syracuse pouting at refs.
