While staying close to home may have been important, the overriding factor obviously was the relationship that was built between the staff and he and his family. If you read into Haith's comments, it was just a matter of Otto getting to DC and being welcomed into the Hoya family.

Looks like I'm going to be buying some Georgetown gear......... Bubba is a Hoya. Crash -- you'll look great in Blue and Gray! Is Bubba going to put that name on the back of his Hoya Jersey? Gotta love it! Thanks for your insights along the way. And welcome to GU. It's GREAT to be a Hoya fan!

May have been a misstatement by the blogger, but he ued the term "reopen" when referring to Otto's list of schools after Anderson left Mizzu. If not then it looks like the young man was Mizzu bound up until Anderson left. When I saw that video of his team playing in the state tournament, I knew why Mizzu had the lead other than the kid just wanted to stay close to home. His team played the same pressing up tempo game Anderson's Mizzu team played. Kudos to staff for staying on him eventhough the current was against them up until about 2 weeks ago. Now the Hoyas can really bring back the old Georgetown press! Designed to actually get a turnover instead of run some clock.

Telep also tweeted that Otto's commitment moves us to #13 on the espn 2011 class rankings. We weren't in the top 25 previously

And that is without Adams or Whittington being ranked in the ESPN Top 100. With more objective rankings, the Hoyas could well be even higher.

I have already stated how excited I am on the Main Board...so i will ask my question here.
We are all well aware of the scholarship situation and I apologize if somewhere this has been answered in this enormous thread.
When does the University have to provide the final roster for 2011-12? Is there an exact date that every school that is reportedly over the scholarship limit must announce the finalized team?
Then we can stop all the speculation.

I may be mistaken, but the transfers have typically come in the weeks following the banquet. Soooo I would give it a month max.
It needs to be finalized before our boys take their trip to China over the summer for sure.

Realistically, what does everyone see the starting 5 looking like to open the season next year?

Overall: Markel/Vee, Aaron/Jabril/Jason, Hollis/Otto, Lubick/Hopkins, Adams/Sims
My starting prediction/Hope: Markel, Hollis, Otto, Hopkins and Sims. 4 Scorers and a big man inside to clean up. Recipe for success.

I don't want to speculate too much.

IMO Otto is the 6th man to start the season, and III will evaluate from there.

Time to prove we can out recruit the big boys nationally. This is a make or break recruit. Happy now? Is Kansas a "big boy?"
