Otto's coach very well may be keeping this for quiet for Otto to announce on his own terms. Yeah, plus the scholarship situation and fact that the banquet is tonight... we may need to be patient a little longer here.

Is this a done deal? This would clearly be our best recruit since Mr. Monroe and the kid would be the perfect for us!!

Is it ok to point out the obvious now? According to this board's scholarship table we do not have room for Mr. Porter on the team.

Ok I know that "rankings" are subjective and mostly bogus, but...
If he had played AAU throughout high school and been on the radar forever, where do people think he would be ranked in the respective recruiting services?

Ayegba is going pro to make room - can't keep the best shotblocker since Patrick Ewing out of the NBA. You heard it here first.

Let's just wait for the young man to announce it to make it definite--but if he's pulled trigger--the good news--just have to wait for tomorrow to make it official--because it's 1st day you can sign LOI for Spring Signing Period. If this happens (and we've had many credible sources saying it--but have to give huge nod to CrashDavis on this site for being most informative since recruitment began and Ron over at HoyaReport has been on this too) this is a fantastic get by the Hoya Staff! Hope it comes true--but want to see the young fella get to announce it at his school or whatever way he chooses and then I'll celebrate. In regards to other news--with Banquet tonight--you know good info always comes from that. Also--just hoping in next 24 hours Otto doesn't change his name to "Ra-Otto OchefuPorter" and move to Philly.

We are going to have a SQUAD!!!

This. Otto and Greg, if as advertised, will see plenty of time on the floor together. Haven't heard a great deal about their defense (we never do, as most recruitniks tend to focus exclusively on offense), but so long as one of them can guard a 4, there should be no reason why they can't play together. We're not getting Porter. I would love to see him as a Hoya, too, but it's not going to happen. Turning point?

Good work Dan! Confirms the Rival's board's speculation. When you look back at the state of GU recruting in July/August -- Hoyas lost their top two, long-time recruiting targets Xmas and Johnson. Supposedly, we had lead for each. Things were looking really grim. But then JT3, Coach Kirby and the staff picked up Tyler Adams after his decommit from DUKE, Michael Hopkins from DeMatha, sleeper Jabril Trawick, Brandon Bolden for 2012, then down the stretch added DC POY 6'9 F Greg Whittington and the top ranked, unsigned recruit, 6'9 F Otto Porter -- ranked # 31 overall on ESPN's list. Pretty darn impressive!WAY TO GO JT3 and STAFF!!

This is comforting from Twitter:
ebosshoops Eric Bossi Otto Porter's high school coach Kenyon Wright has confirmed Porter's commitment to Georgetown.
