Doesn't anyone think it's possible that the decision has long been made, the player(s) leaving is comfortable with it, the players still on the team are comfortable with it, and it's basically a non-issue for everyone around the program, yet it simply hasn't been made public yet? Not only do I "Think it's possible", I think it's a certainty. There is no way JT3 would be bringing this kid to town this weekend.. putting the full court press on to try to land him, bring his Dad in, let Kirby go ALL OUT with JT3 to land this kid... if the staff didn't know for certain there will be a place for him. Come on folks, use your heads. Read between the lines. RB has it exactly right. We all know how GU operates, how JT3 operates. You think there's any way we'd be spending this much time and energy on a 2011 recruit -- at this point in the year -- if we did not KNOW there is an open spot? What, Otto's going to say "Yes", then we're going to say "Ooops, sorry... no spots available"!?!?!?

Too bad its not nicer out for Otto's visit. Georgetown is a much happier, more fun place when its nice out...obviously not a deal breaker but still wouldve been a plus Does anyone know how long to these visits usually last? Its supposed to be 72 degrees and sunny by Sunday. I want this kid badly.

This kid is a must have. I love him. He has a nose for the ball, can handle, rebounds off the offensive glass and is long. He starts if not right away by mid season. This is a solid peace of a foundation that is very promising.

If Sims starts we are in more trouble than first believed. Hopefully he starts alongside Thompson and Clark goes to the bench. This kid is a must have. I love him. "At your wake as I peek in Look in his casket feeling sarcastic look at him still sleepin." Yes since we will be really awesome without him. You guys as always fail to see the big picture like Lamont Coleman. When Bronxitos raved about Kemba Walker as a frosh most of you payasaos told Bronxitos Chris Wright was better. When I told you 3 years ago we needed to get more athletic and longer you guys told me we were plenty athletic enough..... When will you boys learn to heed the word of Bronxitos? This kid is what we need. Next year will be a growth year and perhaps we win a game in the tourney. 2012-13 provided we get a low post threat we could win it all and be downright nasty. First step in that process is getting this kid! To you, because you really like him. This statement has no basis in reality, however. Chris Wright was absolutely better than Kemba Walker when Kemba was a frosh, and when Kemba was a soph probably too. Kemba was BRUTAL his first two years. That isn't to say that people didn't think he'd eventually "get it", but man just awful awful awful awful awful awful awful freshman year.

I wonder if Otto went and checked out David Beckham and the Galaxy as they trained at Georgetown today.
Lawrence, Kansas just doesn't have MLS.

Bronx is probably a little over the top as usual, but I disagree with anybody minimizing this recruit. We DO need a guy like Porter, and soon. The last few classes, including the 2011 class, have featured all solid players but mostly complementary players. That's nice, but having 13 solid players doesn't make you a contender in basketball, which is a superstars game. Is it a given that Porter becomes a star? Of course not, but his star potential is substantially higher than any of our other recruits in the last couple classes. So yes, we do need him, or somebody like him, ASAP. Saying "if we miss, meh, there's always 2012" is bad news, because that's what we said last year, and the year before. I'm far from an expert, and it's extra hard to judge because he's playing weaker competition, but I think if he came to Georgetown Otto COULD be our 2nd or 3rd best player next year, and probably our 4th best player at worst. And he'd only get better from there. So yes, this IS a pretty big deal and could make a big difference for the team the next few years. Definitely not a "gravy" recruit, IMO. About the scholarships, I wish people would just be quiet about it. I got warned a couple weeks ago, so trying to choose my words carefully but... Doesn't anyone think it's possible that the decision has long been made, the player(s) leaving is comfortable with it, the players still on the team are comfortable with it, and it's basically a non-issue for everyone around the program, yet it simply hasn't been made public yet? I know with other transfers in the past many people who knew the player leaving (or other players on the team) were aware well in advance, but it didn't go public for some time, possibly because the player/staff wanted to ensure that the kid was landing softly somewhere else. Anybody who has watched Georgetown a while ought to know that "transparency" is not paramount and alerting the public of team businesses isn't top priority. Why would this be any different? Just because it isn't on guhoyas.com yet does not mean that anything is still undecided or up in the air. I think it is fairly safe to say that the staff knows what they're doing--they always do, on these sorts of things. This, from start to finish.

I shared your frustration with his posts. I literally stopped coming here for about a week because he posts in every thread the same crap. Then someone pointed out that the ignore button is just on the left next to his (and everyone's posts). It is this emoticon: Click on that and you will never have to see his drivel ever again. It is really liberating.

Don't know why so many are picking on poor old bronxie. i happen to find his style somewhat refreshing on what has become somewhat of a stale board over the years. that and the fact he for a while has been ahead of the curve in identifying the overall talent level or lack of in this program for the last few years.I guess some have a hard time dealing with reality. regarding Little Kimba again i think he is spot on. Outside of an up and down freshman year in which he was a big contributor to a final four run i'd take him in a minute. As a frosh and sophmore he was by far a better defensive player than anyone in our program and his offensive stats as a sophmore are not that far behind what we got out of our pg guards in 2010. to claim he was horrible for 2 years, well denies reality and i have seen probably all but a handfull of the 90 odd games he has played. would be nice however if bronxie could occasionally make a few positive posts when things are going well, Hate to see people ignoring bronxie becuase the responses and counters are some of the most entertaining on this board.
