Morris twins both declare w/agent. Definitely hurts our chances.

what are the rules concerning fans sending a twitter message to players? Is that a violation or does the fan need to be an established rep of the university? Technically a violation as Admin points out, but I don't think they ever would or could enforce it. How would they ever prove that the owner of an anonymous twitter account is a booster of a program. Also at this point every school does it I see tons of players retweeting messages from Kentucky, Duke, and every other school. They'd have to hit every single major conference school with this violation if they're going to enforce it.

Otto up to 31 in the latest ESPN100 rankings. If he commits, the kid should start at the 3 from Day 1 and Hollis would gladly slide to the 2.

After watching 2 of his games in full, boy, can this kid move at 6'9.
agree that he would struggle to play the 4 and definitely projects long term to be a SF. Seems he still has some work to do to really extend his range out to 3 point land.
Plays hard, a better passer than I had envisioned a real nose for the ball. Competition is/was very weak but this kid has talent and size that will definitely translate.

St. Louis Post-Dispatch reporter.. twitter.com/studurando"6-8 forward Otto Porter plans to finish visits before signing: Georgetown this weekend, Kansas after that. He already visited Missouri." "Otto Porter's coach at Scott County Central said today he would be surprised if Arkansas entered the picture at this point."

Apparently going to Kansas the weekend of the 23rd.
While I agree that he would play the 3 at the next level, he would have to play some 4 at Gtown if he ever plays alongside Greg.

I see this kid as an eventual first team BE performer should he come to the Hoyas!!

The kid is a 3 all the way. Could become a Corey Brewer type if he gets after it on D. This is a must get for us! Can you imagine the level of comp in our practices with him battling Whittington...Moses vs Adams.....Sonny Lubick vs Hopkins.....Trawick vs Bowen...Vee vs Starky Love.....Lic vs the Keyboard

If we bring in Porter, I see this team looking like the Flyin Illini teams of the late 80s with Kendall Gill, Marcus Liberty and Nick Anderson. Those three guys were interchangeable on the floor, basically all fitting the small forward mold, but they managed to make it work and they were fun to watch. They took their show to a final four, so having these kinds of interchangeable parts has been shown to work before. It may not be textbook, but I would love to watch a team that can put Hollis, Greg and Otto on the floor at the same time.

The forerunners to the Fab 5 at Meechicken who never get the love they deserve. Lowell Hamilton was the center at 6'7 Kenny Battle was the lefty who started at the 4 Marcus Liberty was the 6th man....Bardo was the point. Great team! Bronxitos vs Gtown mediocrity and the malaise that is starting to set in on this program. We need a huge recruiting class this year. Otto Von Bismarck would be the crown jewel in this class. Kansas fans do not feel confident about their chances with Otto Von B. Most think they are to late.

Kansas fans do not feel confident about their chances with Otto Von B. Most think they are to late. Let us hope they are right. I got a chuckle over a couple of posts on the Syracuse board suggesting they try to get involved with Otto, who is #31 on the new ESPNU Top 100 list. The only Otto they are gonna see is the one that would badly lose a mascot throwdown with the Stanford Tree(drunk or sober) or the Oregon Duck.

I don't really blame our guys for not doing the stuff Kim English or Thomas Robinson are....but it would be nice once in a while to see a current player reach out to a prospective one.
maybe Jabril will do it once he arrives.
seems like Jason is always the guy that hosts the visitor(s).

small blurb from an article on Haith's start... www.columbiatribune.com/weblogs/courtside-view/2011/apr/08/haith-in-louisville-as-contact-period-begins/Haith did not speak to Scott County Central standout Otto Porter on Thursday, but the 6-foot-9, 200-pound forward, listed 31st in the lasted ESPNU 100 rankings, is expecting to have a conversation with the new Missouri coach soon. In the meantime, Porter has official visits scheduled the next two weekends with Georgetown and Kansas. When he does talk to Haith, he said he'll be interested to find out "kind of how he coaches and his style of offense and defense." As for where Missouri stands on his list of suitors, he said, "It's impossible to know until I talk to Coach."

So Kansas is in contact with Otto during his official with us...i guess two can play it that way.
I have a feeling its going to come down to whether Otto wants to play in the Big 12 against somewhat lessor competition or step up to the big stage and play in the Big East. One of our biggest selling tools with Otto has to be that he will playing the likes of Boeheim and Syracuse, Calhoun and Uconn, Dixon and Pitt, Pitino and Louisville, Huggins and WV, Wright and Nova, Lavin and St. Johns practically every other game on a national stage. Not to mention the BET which puts kids in the spotlight unlike any other tournament in the country. This could be our edge over Kansas.

I've had too many recruiting letdowns to be anywhere near confident about us landing Otto....everytime we REALLY want someone, he goes somewheres else
