The Kyle Anderson thing is not happening. Other people may want him to come but Bronxitos gets the feeling he is not so anxious to come here. Plus he does not seem like a Gtown player to me. We can get by on what we have in the back court for the next 2 years we need a low post scorer that demands a double team and someone who can get us 8-10 rebounds a game on a nightly basis. I still do not think that player is on the team or will be on the team this summer. Sure maybe it's a long shot. But I guess what I'm saying is I'd be ok with getting another wing now and seeing if that long shot works out, rather than taking 2 more wings now. I do agree that we need a low post scorer. I'm hoping Nate or Tyler Adams can develop into those guys. If not, then we better defend like hell.

You have to think we have a fighter's chance with Otto. We are big man u...and do as good a job as anyone of getting bigs to the league. I am sure Otto and his family recognize this and has something to do with why he is taking an official. We have a shot.
As far as playing time goes...for better or for worse you have to think that the only starting spots that are spoken for is markel at the 1, Clark at the 2, and Hollis at 3. The 5 is obviously wide open and IMHO, so is the 4 if we land Otto.

I do not think either Lubick or Adams will become the dominant post player we so desire.

Lubick needs to work on his jump hook over the right shoulder all summer. He can give us 10 and 7 next year if he learns that shot although Bronxitos would love to see Moses(?)develop and start at the 4. Hopefully Adams starts at center from Day 1. Hollis needs to be working on his handle and begin to make moves that end up at the rim. His mid range game is already on point. A sure bright spot would be if Trawick and/or Bowen(?) take major minutes from Clark as the season progresses. Hopefully one of those 2 can become our defensive crimson dynamo. I think what is being missed here in this discussion is the "family" atmosphere we have to offer at Georgetown. The Porter family marches to the beat of a different drummer in how this recrutiment has gone, by all accounts, and this relationship will likely be an important factor ESPECIALLY if he will be open to moving away from home. We're getting him on campus...that means alot. Clearly we have a shot. Whether we land him or not remains to be seen, but this campus visit is certainly our time to sway him our way the best we can. That's really all you can ask for from the staff..ultimately it's the kids decision and i know its the offseason and we have nothing better to do but we just gotta sit back and let it all play out, and like someone mentioned earlier our chances have gone up since anderson got out of dodge

Steve Alford seems to be the name being linked most with Missouri now. Would be interesting to see what the impact would be on both Porter and Henry. Don't think it would hurt us with either.

Why why why are we recruiting in 2011 for more scholarships than we have available and loading up specifically at the SF position? Something troubles me.

So you don't want better players?

Of the 5 projected starters for 2011-12 season, the last person I would seek to upgrade or recruit over is Hollis. And we are potentially doing it with 2 SF recruits when we have a far bigger need at PG/SG depth and talent. That is what troubles me.
What would your reaction be if you were benched in favor of an underwhelming freshman and then saw 2 SFs coming in. The writing may be on the wall.

If competition is open like it should be--Hollis Thompson should be moving to 2G (which he's said is the position he sees himself) and Jason Clark either learns to handle the ball and compete for point guard--or is a valuable backup player off the bench--as others compete for SF spot.

The 2 and 3 spots in this offense are basically indistinguishable. Was Freeman at SF this year positioned differently on offense compared to Clark at SG? No. On defense, given his length, you probably prefer Hollis guarding the 3 in man defense. Plus, Hollis is a very talented rebounder for his size, so I don't seem him playing the 2 in defensive zone sets.
The concern here is the lack of apparent open 2011 scholarships and the current emphasis on SF recruiting. I'm just concerned by how this all seems to be playing out.
I know there are board rules against speculation, but a reasonable review of what is going on leads me down a certain path...

Ranch, there have been countless posts -- within Board rules -- about the considerable likelihood of at least one transfer this year -- though no one has identified who it might be. Or maybe there will be more than one.
Looking at historical performance, it is almost inconceivable that someone won't transfer. Then add in all the recruiting going on -- by JT3 and staff - of 2011 kids. Ding ding ding ding.... someone is leaving.

With all due respect Saxa but whether someone is leaving or not doesn't change the fact that the team has enough SF types on the team but does not have enough guards or more specific ball handlers. I feel that Starks will have a strong sophmore season but he cant do it by himself and we already know that ball handling isn't a strong suit for either JC or VS I agree with Ranch that the staff should be focused more on guards as opposed to the SF types which the team seems to have enough of right now. Imho the staff has already signed the best one of the three SF's they were pushing for anyway.

Alford living off name. what and UNLV Actually, he has rebuilt that program pretty quickly. Last year's team was strong and this year they were very young and still beat BYU twice and challenged SDSU. Not saying he is a great coach, but having seen him coach aganst SDSU for the past few years, I think that I underestimated his ability before. Remember, he is not working with the same talent that we have.

He'd be a horrible hire for Missouri and his wife is a bigger pain in the ass then Alford is--just wonder if he'll make the Missouri kids chant "Alford time" before they take the floor like he did when he took over at Iowa.

he's safe where he is, as expectations aren't very high. We've seen what he's done @ HM schools....flopped.
Btw, whatever happened to Quin Snyder after Mizzou?

The Morris Twins are supposively going pro. I'm sure Kansas is going to make a strong push for him.
