He's going to "trim" his list to 15 after July. I heard him say it 3 times this week, the most recent about 4 hours ago after his win in the semis. When you are that good, that is trimming your list, KG. ;D

Vince Baldwin, Director of Scouting for Nike, compared Noel to Patrick Ewing.
He also spoke very highly of Kyle Anderson ....said he hasn't seen a guy do as much as Kyle at his size since Magic Johnson.
He obviously thinks both guys are game changers.

Hmm. I count six recent national championships among that group, Calishadi, and us. Yes, we're big man U., but that sort of list doesn't make me real optimistic.

What's funny is that his AAU plays a style that is very similar to Georgetown and his skill set is perfect fit offensively for what Georgetown does--defensively he's a perfect fit for any program. Most who see him play are shocked what a good passer he is and how good he is in high post area. Needs to improve low block/post up game--but he's got nice form/touch on jumper too and is better driver --specifically to his offhand. Kid grew up a fan of Georgetown-so don't be so doom/gloom Rooter. This isn't Howland trying to land him.

know some people were concerned about our involvement with Nerlens now, but we will be on his list at the end of the summer (or whenever he puts it out.) & of course, unless something were to drastically change with his process (doubtful).

QUOTE: No player since Russell has controlled the lane as a defender with such a combination of timing and athleticism and without needing physical presence thrown into the equation.
Compared to Russell. I'll take him! He sounds like a program maker!

You get the "Magic" and "Bird" comparisons nearly every year with top players in high school. But the "Russell" superlative is not dropped as frequently. That is lofty (or maybe wafty)...

This is true. And I have a question. For those of you who followed recruiting closely back in the 90s, did Zo draw any comparisons to Russell? If I recall correctly, shot blocking and defense were considered Zo's forte when he was coming out of HS, weren't they? I wonder if Zo might be the last guy who was compared to Russell coming out of high school.

Has there been a more prolific shot blocker out coming of high school in the last 30 years than zo?
