Thank you Lord. Thank you. seriously. i knew god couldn't hate hoya fans that much. terps played unbelievably down the stretch to make that a game. wish i didn't hate that school so much - that was an easy, overachieving team to root for I bet.

One thing about Beavis, although I still consider him one of the most overrated players in recent memory, is that he is clutch. If you let MD keep hangin around and hangin around (Teddy KGB accent), they will make you pay.
Just a clutch shot by Lucious. R.I.P. couches and other flammable materials.

That is the type of coach needed at Georgetown. NOT the "princeton" offense guy. You're a dick. Oh yeah, I don't see Gary Williams in the sweet sixteen, or any other number of crazed coaches on the sidelines.

I hope we lock up Thompson for life, personally. And to keep this on thread, way to go Michigan State!

Here's what this mentally challenged kid wrote on his first-ever post, from late 2006: --------------------------------- Author afalcon10Bulldog member is online Joined: Dec 2006 Gender: Male Posts: 358 G'town Player Breakdown For all new hoya fans out there, can anybody real briefly tell what type of player everybody on the roster is and what they do well and not so well? --------------------------------- So - clearly, not a long-time Hoyas fan. At the time, falcon also said he was going to soon be a student at Georgetown. On the very off chance that was true, we can only surmise that his stint on the Hilltop embittered him to the point of insanity, and the loss to Ohio has pushed him over the edge. Pity the fool.

One thing about Beavis, although I still consider him one of the most overrated players in recent memory, is that he is clutch. This...although it pains me to say that as the person who the Maryland fans are talking about in my quote. Zero chance he wasn't taking and making those last two shots. He turned a bit of a corner this year and was a better player for it. Of course, if you think Hoya fans were hard on Chris Wright at times this season...we'd have murdered Greivis from Day 1. Heck, we WERE murdering him from Day 1 when he played in the Kenner League that one summer. In the same way Scottie wouldn't have worked at GU, Greivis and Gary were made for each other--GV is basically GW manifested on the court. The relationship between Maryland fans and GV is easily the most complicated in the NCAA. How do you assess the Beavis Era? Three second round exits and one NIT (they lost to Syracuse in the second round). Also...weird how Maryland got all the way to 2nd in the ACC, a 4 seed, and a buzzer-beater from playing UNI in the Sweet 16...with only one quality win the entire season.

so which loss is more painful to stomach? us getting blown out of the gym by a Ohio U team that shoots lightsout or coming back against Mich State and losing on a buzzer beater that will undoubtely be repeated on every news broadcast over the next 3 days?

I hope they have the College Park riot police on stand-by. Nothing says "college" like a little tear gas and rubber bullets on a beautiful Sunday afternoon.

Option 1 without a doubt considering Georgetown is better than Maryland and Michigan State is better than Ohio.

quit complimenting one of the most hated individuals ever by hoya fans. also, please note that both Bob Huggins and Frank Martin's teams have made the sweet 16. That is the type of coach needed at Georgetown. NOT the "princeton" offense guy. Who is Frank Martin??? (I checked out Wikipedia to answer that question) Other then being Bob Huggin's successor at K-State. (So that explains what team it is that you root for). Head coaching record Season Team Overall Conference Standing Postseason Kansas State (Big 12 Conference) (2007–present) 2007–08 Kansas State 21-12 10-6 3rd NCAA Second Round 2008–09 Kansas State 22-12 9-7 4th NIT Second Round 2009–10 Kansas State 28-7 11-5 2nd NCAA Kansas State: 71-31 30-19 Yeah thats a decent career but now lets look at JTIII's: Season Team Overall Conference Standing Postseason Princeton (Ivy League) (2000–2004) 2000–2001 Princeton 16-11 11-3 1st NCAA 1st Round 2001–2002 Princeton 16-12 11-3 T-1st NIT 1st Round 2002–2003 Princeton 16-11 10-4 3rd 2003–2004 Princeton 20-8 13-1 1st NCAA 1st Round Princeton: 68-42 45-11 Georgetown (Big East Conference) (2004–present) 2004–2005 Georgetown 19-13 8-8 T-7th NIT Quarterfinals 2005–2006 Georgetown 23-10 10-6 T-4th NCAA Sweet 16 2006–2007 Georgetown 30-7 13-3 1st NCAA Final Four 2007–2008 Georgetown 28-6 15-3 1st NCAA 2nd Round 2008–2009 Georgetown 16-15 7-11 11th NIT 1st Round 2009–2010 Georgetown 23-10 10-8 7th NCAA 1st Round Georgetown: 138-59 62-40 Also, coaches like Frank Martin are a dime a dozen. Some reasons why JTIII is so great at Georgetown are his character and class (do you want a coach in a sweatsuit at all of our games?), his unique and cerebral offense (seems like a great fit at probably the most academically elite school in major basketball), and his love and passion for the university he grew up at! (legacy is something Georgetown values). Now lets look at Bob Huggins: He was fired from Cinci because "Zimpher (their AD) said that the Bearcat program under Huggins didn't fit with her plan to upgrade UC's academic reputation." Since Huggins has been in a major conference (His time with Cinci in ConfUSA doesn't count because a peewee coach could win that conference) here has been his record: Kansas State (Big 12 Conference) (2006–2007) 2006–2007 Kansas State 23-12 10-6 4th NIT 2nd Round Kansas State: 23-12 10-6 West Virginia (Big East Conference) (2007–present) 2007–2008 West Virginia 26-11 11-7 T-5th NCAA Sweet Sixteen 2008-2009 West Virginia 23-10 10-8 T-7th NCAA 1st Round 2009-2010 West Virginia 28-6 13-5 T-2nd West Virginia: 77-29 34-20 Now then, he has done solid and is probably on par with JTIII but has a different coaching style, philosophy, and moral compass. No real reason to replace JTIII with a coach who is just as effective on the court and can't hold a candle to JTIII off the court. (And they are both very good recruiters so they are null there too). JTIII is a very smart coach and has made adjustments every season here, he is still young as a head coach, with only 9 seasons of HC exp and has plenty of room to learn and adjust to the Big East (compared many of the other HCs of the BE who have been around forever). Also, Keep in mind that Huggins has been a Head Coach for 30 years! Imagine where JTIII will be at Georgetown in another 20 years! (I, for one, am highly optimistic) Oh, also, this is the first time that JTIII has been knocked out of the NCAA's in the 1st round while at Georgetown. afalcon, I'm sure you root for Georgetown when we are doing well but JTIII is an incredible coach and we are lucky that he left his alma mater to come coach us! (Whereas Huggybear ditched K-State after 1 season! to go back to WVU).

Different circles of Hell. One thing that makes a difference is what lies ahead. We would've headed into a Round 2 game against a tough Tennessee team that, it turned out, brought their A game on Saturday (EDIT: And tOSU would have been no picnic in the Sweet 16!). Maryland was 6 seconds away from a Sweet 16 game against a game UNI team, but a 9 seed nonetheless. Greg Monroe's return is the huge question mark--but we may well be much better equipped for a deep NCAA run next season, so our "chance" for this "era" as it were hasn't necessarily passed. Maryland? Well, they lose their heart and soul player Vasquez along with Eric Hayes and Landon Milbourne. With the ACC being down in 2009-10 in a way it probably won't be for several years and the way the bracket opened up...Maryland missed its golden chance today IMO. Not sure how long it takes them to get another one this good.

How the hell does a thread on Beavis and that wasteland in PG County that is UMCP turn into a discussion on JT3's coaching ability. Clutter.

Doesnt matter what you wear to the arena if you go home a loser like we did. Seems like you would fit in well with Kansas and Memphis and UMass. Keep in mind that there are only 2 teams that end their season with a win.
