During the Cincy/WVU game, I saw a quick fan interview with Fmr. President Clinton where he said, and I quote, "I love Syracuse" and "I never root against Syracuse unless my alma mater is playing them." These comments coupled with that Arkansas game years ago I think officially puts him on the disavowed list.

In all seriousness he was extremely complimentary of Monroe and made it clear that he is a big Hoya fan. I thought it was a good reminder to all the casual sports fans that yes, this man who is maybe the most famous American politician alive is a proud Georgetown alum. Speaks well to our academic reputation, I think.
Now clearly when Clinton was at GU there was no Hoya Blue to instill a proper hatred of the Cuse. Also, it's standard politician stuff. If people want to hate on Biden for coming to our building and rooting for Cuse thats one thing and I'm with that, but Clinton made it clear that he's a Hoya first and then did the typical politician thing of say something nice about the other guy so as to not make enemies. Standard fare. I thought it was alright.

Good point RB. When WJC was on the Hilltop, we didn't even play Cuse. Plus the politician stuff.

I can assure all of the people of a different political persuasion than I that, if Antonin Scalia had made similar remarks, I would be just as Editeded off at him as I am at the former President.
There are more than a few Hoyatalk members who were also not part of the Big East when they were in college. I don't hear any of them slurping the Orange.
But, with that, I'll let it go. I'll focus my disgust on BUM to keep the mojo going.

I think President Clinton made those comments because he was at the game with one of his best friends, Terry McAuliffe. Terry is from Syracuse and is a die hard fan of the Orange (despite getting a law degree from Georgetown). He goes to the BET every year to cheer on the Cuse, and it looks like this year the President joined him.
Too bad for Terry and the President the Hoyas came to play today. I wonder if he'll be scalping those prime seats now that Syracuse is out.

I am no BC fan but give the guy a break - he's a pol and needs to offend as few a possible especially since he lives in NY (at times) and his wife is former NY Senator - and who knows if and when she'll run again for something, This whole thing is silly

What's far more interesting regarding President Clinton is that his CBB analysis was far more accurate then anything spewed by 95% of the people ESPN employ.
