Meh I thought it was fine, yeah not one of the best this season but it wasn't bad.
1) The sun and jin reunion wasn't given the proper time it deserved. Needed the slow mo with sappy music. but I think the real thing that killed it was half the audience wondering whether or not the fence got shut off in time for them to actually hug. I know half the people I talked to were screaming no wait when they started running towards each other.
2) I thought the acting, especially locke and desmond, was really good.
3) We got confirmation on something we've known that locke was christian. I'm still a little unsure on the appearances of christian in the show. Best as I can tell: Anything On Island was the man in black. But off island when jack sees him I assume it's jack's visions of Christian not the man in black. I think like with hurley they're prompted by jacob. The one that confuses me is when christian appears to michael on the freighter right before it explodes. I guess that's also the man in black? But why? It implies that he was the one keeping michael alive and had him come back to the island. but how can the man in black influence anythign off island? Confusing.
4)In the alternate world everyone is coming together, which is cool. Desmond is guiding everyone.
5) So I think we're all on the page that Sayid did not kill desmond. So will sayid ultimately be redeemed after all.
So there's no new episode next week. They're replaying ab eterno and the new episode isn't till may 4th. Anyone know why? I don't think it's a shooting episode issue since i beleive they're finishing up the finale right now so this episode must already be done. What gives?

I know half the people I talked to were screaming no wait when they started running towards each other. I know I was thinking "she's gonna run to him and get zapped!". Honestly didn't care about this reunion getting it's own musical montage where they look wiShut uplly into each others eyes as a new single by <insert-female-solo-acoustic-pop-act> plays and everyone around reflects on the beauty of the moment, pan to shots of other people on the island interacting with each other happily. There's 4 episodes left, let's not waste it. One thing I really didn't like - them trying to explain the Christian Shephard thing the way they did. I feel like there and last week with the Hurley / Michael conversation they are stooping to trying to explain things bluntly to the lowest common denominator - everyone should have already known that Christian Shephard was MiB and the Yemi was MiB.

2) I thought the acting, especially locke and desmond, was really good. I agree. I think Locke is fascinating this season - Emmy-worthy performance. However, I'm still waiting for an explanation as to how the smoke monster is disrupting air travel over Europe. We were also yelling out loud wondering if the sonic fence was on. However, once that was resolved, my wife made me rewind it so she could watch Sun and Jin again -- so I don't think we can say their reunion had zero emotional resonance.

I was really hoping they were going to run in a get zapped. That would have been a great twist.

I was really hoping they were going to run in a get zapped. That would have been a great twist. Actually, I was kind of hoping that too. But just Sun, not Jin. Seriously, I never really thought that Sun was an interesting character in any way, for being one of the core main characters. She had some promise when she turned into ruthless Sun who wanted to destroy her father and kill Ben (and maybe Jack too) after she got off the island, but that's about it. I think it would've been outstanding if they just said, "ZAPPO!! Ha! Sun had nothing to do with the ending of this show!!!" Imagine how many people they would've Editeded off!! I think the Washington Post girls may have had strokes. I'm sick that way.

It seems everything has significance on Lost. Anybody care to pose an explanation of the name of the sailboat, Elizabeth, and it's port of origin, Newport Beach?
EDIT: Just found out it was Desmond's boat, when he sailed to the island.

I'm pretty sure it's called Elizabeth because it was Libby's and she gave it to him.
We still don't really have a full explanation of that, I don't think though.

One day every discussion will refer to one TV show or another. My son and I do the Seinfeld speak once in a while; also the Fawlty Tower speak.

From the Washington Post Lost girls: The Top 5 Unanswered Questions that We Want AnsweredI'll probably think of more later, but I'd certainly add to this list: "What the hell do the numbers mean???" We've had hints and clues, but not really answers. EDIT: Another question might be "why no new episode this week?" but I'd imagine the answer to that has something to do with sweeps.

yeah it kinda bugged me that there was no new episode this week. Honestly why didn't they just wait one week to start the season?

Holy. Crap. Great episode. I was going to be Editeded if J + S didn't revert back to their native language at some point during that climactic scene.

Wow I can't believe that just happened to the Kwons after everything. Loved all of the submarine action, particularly uncovering the bomb. Intense. Really glad Jack has come around. I like him a lot again, like I did in season 1. He seems to be past his whiny phase and back to being a confident leader. Looks like next week will be the episode that HSB mentioned that gives us a glimpse into Jacob/MiB and their past. CANT WAIT for that. But the Kwons....

Damn, great episode. Tragic end for the Kwon's. Any chance Frank survived? Probably not, i mean he got hit by a heavy metal door. wow it's really picking up. these last 4 hours are going to be incredible.
It was also nice to see anthony cooper in the side ways world and hear how locke got paralyzed.

Frank Lapidus came all this way just for that?? Who did Jeff Fahey Edited off anyway?? That was my thought! He's been kind of an ancillary character all along—a very likable ancillary character, but ancillary nonetheless. He could have been dispensed with at any point since the return to the island and it wouldn't have meant a damn thing. But now, we lose him because he gets hit by a submarine door?! No chance for a heroic flourish or self-sacrificing end. He just gets knocked out and dies. As much as I liked his character, what I like more is that the show has obviously reached the point where anything goes. In this last season (which I have enjoyed a great deal, unlike some people), I've had the sense that we were in a bit of a holding pattern for a while, just getting all the pieces in place. This episode marks the "all bets are off from here on out" point.
