I think they are actually running the offense pretty well so far.

I think they are actually running the offense pretty well so far. If forcing bad passes to covered guys on the side line like robots and turning it over is running the offense well, then I agree with you.

nice run here..... not watching it, but by listening to Rich it sounds like Monroe is missing a lot of layups?

When did Wright forget how to hit a 3?

THAT first half was more like it. Loved the intensity. Sharp cuts on offense. One bad transition hoop given up but none after that. Lots of minutes for Vee as well. Chris playing great so far (of course there is ALWAYS room for improvement). It's amazing what having a few days of actual practice will do. Harvard is definitely a good team - no question about it. P.S. - JJ, you are way too sour with Christmas only 2 days away. Stop working so hard. ![:P](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/tongue.png)

First-half thoughts:
1. LOVE the energy of Monroe today. Best I've seen from him in a while. Not only is he scoring, but more importantly, he is going hard for boards and diving on the floor for loose balls. The block at the end of the half where he just ripped the ball out of the Harvard guy's hands without even leaving his feet. The steal at the end of the half. Wow.
2. Like Freeman's aggressiveness to the rack. He is playing well.
3. Like some of what Chris is doing but again, he is out of control a lot of the time when he drives to the rack and he needs to keep working on his 3 point shooting in the gym.
4. Why can't we play defense like we did in the last 4 minutes of the half? Our defense has been very porous the past 2 games (how many layups did Harvard get in the 1st half?). Bring the intensity fellas! (and good things will happen).

First half thoughts:
The good: - Yes, they are running the offense well. - Great play all around from the guard trio. - Hustling for ALL loose balls. - Good minutes for Vee.
The bad: - Turnovers, turnovers, turnovers.* - Wright's outside shot still isn't there yet. - Still have to work on closing on outside shooters, but Harvard hasn't been killing it from outside.
* Some turnovers are worse than others, of course. Greg losing it in his legs or Vee inadvertently stepping on the sidelines, OK. Those will happen from time to time. But we had at least four of those "lazy pass" turnovers that lead directly to points on the other end. I honestly believe we would destroy most teams if we weren't giving them those free points.

Disagree COMPLETELY with the comments about Monroe. This may be the best game I've seen him play this year.

best sequence so far on 11 - 0 run. hustle by monroe on loose ball (tallest guy gets to floor first) and gets a time out. rebound by monroe for putback. block on other end. outlet pass way out to freeman, who gives it back and then receives the ball back as he settles in the corner for a three. offensive charge by harvard. chris gets on foul line. even monroe loses it on post move but hustles and steals it from behind from harvard as they race up the court. on next possesion wright goes for steal and on the resulting loose ball hoya (clark?) dives into the stands. harvard gets ball back but we give no open looks for the last 17 seconds of half. we need more of this and more consistently.

great run to end the 1st half... it definitely sounds like they're playing with a lot more energy than they showed against ODU..

I always liked Freeman driving to the basket. He's always under control, finishes well (as opposed to Wright/Monroe), and not a liability on the line if fouled.

georgetown has 6 turnovers in the half. that's a better pace than every game except savannah state and american.

georgetown has 6 turnovers in the half. that's a better pace than every game except savannah state and american. True, but three were lazy passes on the perimeter that led to Harvard layups. If we cut it down to 3, there's probably at least a six point swing there.
