What exactly would Rivers say? "Look at how my scoring average has soared since I left GTown (6pts a game at IU) on 40% shooting and 56% from the line"?

Not to worry if he watches Rivers play that game...

I know 3 doesnt make promises and all, and I feel that, but we are at a very crucial point. He needs to tell him he will see some time immediately. We need this guy bad. Also would love to see him add another wing from this class if there are any left out there uncommitted. We need a legit class with more than one or two guys that can play.

I'd love to get Abraham or Walker, but I don't see III making promises to anybody. Just not in III's nature, especially after the transfers of Macklin and Rivers. We know that one of these bigs is unlikely to start, even if Monroe doesn't come back (95% chance it will be Lubick and Vaughn up front unless something strange happens). Then, he's competing against a Jr. Sims and a So. Benimon for minutes. I'd think a guy worth his salt would see that competition for the 3rd big and say he can go get a lot of playing time, but it's no guarantee that he'll see more than 10-15 mpg as a frosh even if Monroe leaves early.

I'd love to get Moses and Walker. I would worry about Tennessee. From watching limited clips of Moses, the first words that came to mind not knowing his list were "Bruce Pearl player." He just has that athletic look to him. He'd look great in a GU uniform, but I think this is far from a sure thing for GU.

I think he will tell JT3 as soon as possible if he's staying. If he stays and Nate coming in, there isn't a pressing need down low. Then, JT3 con focus on the best possible fits of the '10 and '11 class. If GM is leaving, then sign one of these bigs.

If you bring quality to the table, you will play. There's plenty of minutes to go around. See, for example, Duke's frontcourt subs. I'm not saying they are quality, but except for Singler, the 5 other frontcourt players (2 Plumlees, Thomas, Zoubek and Kelly) bring exactly the same thing and see plenty of minutes. Bring in quality players and they will play. 10-15 minutes for a possible Championship team should be fine for a frosh.

If this next big recruit plays 10-15 minutes, it won't be for a "possible Championship team". There's no way this guy will get 10-15 minutes if Monroe stays, with Monroe, Vaughn, Lubick and potentially Bennimon ahead of him (and that's leaving Sims with 2 years in the system out of it entirely). If he's going to play 10-15 minutes, that means Monroe is gone and it's not a "possible Championship team".

depending on off season improvements and the ability of starks/ lubick/ any other freshman to contribute we could still be a championship quality team next year.
You also have to look at who everyone else is returning. we're one of the youngest teams nationally. All the good teams this year will be losing major pieces.
Just in the big east: Cuse loses 3 starters Nova loses 2 starters WV loses at least 2 starters 3 if ebanks jumps Pitt only loses 1 starter Louisville loses 3 starters Uconn loses 2 starters and their 6th man who plays more minutes than some of their starters Cinci loses 3 starters assuming born ready leaves. Hall loses essentially 2 starters ( hard to say exactly since their line up changes s much but 2 key players) Marq loses 2 starters and their 6th man ND loses 2 starters and their 6th man St. John's loses 1 starter and will have 10 seniors on next years team! USF loses 2 starters and their back up center Depaul loses 1 of their 2 good players Rutgers loses 1 starter 2 if rosario decides to bolt Providence loses 2 starters
We just lose greg but aren't guaranteed to lose him

Moses is supposed to go to the Kentucky-Tennessee game this weekend in Knoxville.
His top 5 is: Gtown (in the lead), Maryland, Kentucky, Tennessee, and Indiana (with Florida and Seton Hall supposedly on the outside looking in).
Moses was originally going to announce on March 5 but that decision has been pushed back. This won't play out until after the season is over (I expect Greg's decision will play into this even though I think we should add another big regardless of Greg). I hope JTIII makes him an offer.

Check the Duke minutes (6 "big" players get more than 10 minutes). There's plenty of minutes to go around. Coach will be able to keep the bigs fresh, out of foul trouble and throw different looks. We will be a tall, athletic, experienced and deep team: the perfect mix for a possible Championshp team.

Why wouldn't III make an offer? What does he have to lose at this point, plenty of schollies available. My assumption is that if Greg were to return (for some reason), III might want to use that schollie on someone from 2011 who he thinks is more polished and ready to contribute (although I think we need to temper our expectations with any recruit we get coming in as a freshman unless we get the next Melo or Wall). There are lots of forwards in the 2011 we are looking at, including of course the prize of the class, Rak. Then there is the "controversial" Hopkins who some people don't like on this board but I would welcome him on the team (even though I agree he needs a bit more of a motor). Some smaller forwards/3s as well like Brandon Dawson. I think we need to make a big splash with our 2011 class, especially with everything we will be losing. So the question is, if Greg were to return, do you want to take Moses for a year to develop in the program (because I don't think he would get any minutes, or very limited minutes if Greg returns), or do you wait for a 2011 man? Another question to consider: do you take a project in 2010 or a project in 2011 like Jordan (I would much prefer Moses). With only Vaughn, Benimon, Sims, and Lubick up front, we need another big. I would take Moses (but the question is can he contribute right away?). Moses will bring good energy and can block shots (more athletic than Benimon I think). And of course this discussion isn't occurring in a vacuum, there are other guys we are still looking at. I just hope Moses is playing for us next year.

My understanding is that he HAS an offer from GU. Can anyone confirm that?

Is there any evidence during his tenure at Georgetown that JT III will play 5 bigs a minimum of 10-15 minutes? 4 bigs 10-15 minutes? We have major depth issues this year and Sims can barely touch the floor. Why do we think a raw freshman would play 10-15 minutes if he were, at the very least, behind Monroe, Vaughn and Lubick? And that's if he were to beat out Bennimon and Sims, which is somewhat unlikely.
