Well, Moses can either go to a school where, to quote JTIII "we turn our big men into millionaires" ....or he can go to Indiana.
He can either go to a school that's produced Ewing, Mourning, Mutombo, and more recently Hibbert and Monroe....or he can go to Indiana.
He can play in the best conference in the country (and get the national TV exposure that comes with that)....or he can go to Indiana.

I heard that Crean just promised him that a HUGE image of his face would be on Giant Cardboard Posters that all the kids at IU games will hold up throughout the contest -- waving them wildly while chanting something about the Big Ten Commandments, according to Moses!

My guess on this latest batch of news:
Crean is desperate and is making a very hard run at Moses and Boncore, probably offering instant playing time/starting status (which is not a stretch, as IU's bigs are terrible), and those promises are having an impact on Moses' thinking.
Moses probably likes JT III and Georgetown better, but likely hasn't been promised anything and knows he'd have to work very hard to get significant minutes as a freshman. Vaughn will start and Bennimon/Lubick/Sims would be his competition for the other starting spot/frontcourt minuetes, and that's all assuming that Monroe doesn't come back. He wouldn't have that kind of competition at IU.
Simply put, he needs to decide if he wants to play right away for a crappy team/desperate coach, or work very hard to get minutes at a big-time program in the country's best conference. I won't begrudge the guy either way, but I also won't cry if we don't get him.

Crean has developed Novak (6'10 shooter), Hayward (undersize forward who will have a hard time finding time in the league), Ousmane Barro (probably playing somewhere abroad). Compare that to Gtown with Green (#5 pick), Hibbert (first rounder playing strong for Pacers), Sweetney #8 picked who fizzled, Ewing #1 pick, Mutombo, Mourning #2 pick, Reid (2nd rounder who stuck in the league for years), Jahidi White, (2nd rounder who stuck for a long time).
This is the biggest no brainer in the history of the earth (bad radio commercial). The only argument could be for instant playing time without any effort which I don't think translates into a better potential professional game. You need to compete in practice.

Or, it could just be that Moses, who just got to the US, wants more information.
It would of course be better for GU for him to commit now. Even if he waits, he still may come here.

To be fair, I think the relevant comparisons for Moses are the bigs that have played for JT III, not his dad. That said, I'd take the results JT III's had with Green, Hibbert and Monroe in a much shorter period of time over anything Crean has done in the last 10 years.

All Creepy has to do is point out how great a star former Hoya sub Rivers has turned into with 2 years in his program - oh, wait, never mind.

Just heard Bonafor on 106.7 defending his involvement inthe process. Said the kid has many options and could go "anywhere he wants" but did acknowledge that there has not been recent contact from Maryland. He also said that Georgetown has been very high on the kid and said nice things about the coaching staff but did not indicate thqt a decision had been reached.

This is embarrassing. Everyone who went off on the Latavious Williams thing needs to be embarrassed by this FAR MORE.
Moses seems like a great kid, confused, and all this has done is open eyes to how goofy/weird recruiting is and how similar Tom Crean is to Tom Arnold on coke binge. Crean is one of these guys who actually believes he's "outworking "another coach by simply pacing during a game--doesn't matter if anything gets done on court--he's "a better coach" because he's yelling, clapping, taking sips of Jolt Cola, and pacing. He's the biggest clown in CBB and I remember when Marquette fans got angry at me for saying so when they entered the Big East. Ask them now how they feel and they've joined the "party".
Abraham is a nice fit/role player who if he chooses Georgetown has a chance to develop due to the big man instruction. To even mention Greg Monroe's name with this kid is INSANE. Think more along lines of a Don Reid--which is GREAT--but it's getting out of hand and embarrassing.

Could not agree more. The kid is apparently a good player with high upside. However, Spring signings are typically a crapshoot if the kid is not already highly ranked.

There are some programs out there where, if Moses was to chose to attend over GU, I would get it. We have had some recent struggles developing unskilled, athletic big men (see: Macklin, Sims) that I could see being used against us in a recruting war.
But Indiana?!?! Umm, no. If he ends up there -- he is getting bad advice, and I will feel terrible for the kid.

I would use Hibbert, Green and Monroe against that. I wouldn't use the enigmatic Summers, but he's NBA. Vaughn has had nice development. Sims is still a work in process. As for Macklin, he has improved, but after watching some Florida games, it's like he's allergic to defense. Maybe he didn't like all the movement in JT3's defense. You might say Monroe was talented, but his numbres improved nicely from last year.

IM getting to the point that this week to week thing is starting to be disrespectful to GU. No recruit is bigger then the University, this isnt USC and OJ MAYO. And Im not saying he should just pick us and make his mind up, but it was his camp who said when he was going to make a decision, this is the third date and nothing. Its getting disrespectful to JT III and the program, much like Roscoe and all his BS talk afer he chose UCONN, cant wait to see him on the court next year.

I haven't chimed in on this thread b/c I couldn't articulate my position well enough, but this pretty much encompasses it. I'll be happy if he choses GU, but he's not the next Ewing where you may accept being jerked around a little by the player's handlers during the recruiting process.

JJL Im with you man, its getting to the point where this guy's handlers have him all over the place, but I think the guy is looking for a pay out and he isnt getting that from GU.

Are we really getting jerked around? He showed up to our selection party, for heaven's sake. He has genuine interest. As hoyaboya stated, Crean gets involved at the last minute, and probably promises him PT, and there are no such guarantees from III.
The kid's been in the country since Thanksgiving, and he's just a kid. And he may be trying to decide between instant PT at on a mediocre team vs. long term development at Big Man U. If he decides it's better for him to play right away, I wish him the best and would be glad we found that out up front. If he sees that he will develop all aspects of his game here, get a world-class degree and be a significant contributor by the time he graduates, then welcome aboard. I think he can help us.
It's a momentous decision for a young man, so give him whatever time he feels he needs. We have a deep tourney run to prepare for.
On Edit: If he were looking for a payout, I think this process would have ended a long time ago. I think we would have sniffed that out already.
