Is anyone watching FlashForward? I kinda came late to it, but I'm really starting to dig it.

Is anyone watching FlashForward? I kinda came late to it, but I'm really starting to dig it. Yeah I watched all three episodes online this weekend b/c my g/f recommended it. She's the one who got me into Lost, so I trust her. I like Flash Forward. It seems a bit like Lost Lite right now. But I think it could go in some interesting directions. It reminds me of Memento in certain ways. We're going to need something after Lost anyway, so this might fit the bill.

I watched the first episode and it didn't really hook me in. May try it again, but meh wasn't feeling it.

Did anyone else catch the season premiere of the Venture Brothers? It was nothing short of brilliant, even if it took the whole episode to figure out what was going on.

Venture Brothers is always brilliant! I can cross 'Stab Hitler to death' off my list of cool crap I thought I'd never get to do.

Abed's Batman was hysterical last night. Community is really doing well.

Abed's Batman was hysterical last night. Community is really doing well. I think Parks and Rec has picked up the pace this year too - that show was pretty boring last season but has gotten a lot better this season. It's gotten to the point where I think people could have a legitimate argument about what is the best Thursday night NBC show (Office, 3rd Rock, Parks and Rec, Community). Modern Family is the best comedy on TV though. The scene with the Onstar had me rolling. How does it not get more love from the Sunny fans?

Agree that all four are pretty great - both Office and 30 Rock have been less than stellar this year, but Community and Parks & Rec have more than made up for it. Also agree that Modern Family beats them -- and humbly suggest that Cougartown is finding its legs. FYI, Scrubs comes back on Dec 1 along with Better off Ted. If ABC were to move them to Wednesday from 8-9, then I daresay that ABC Wednesday night could rival NBC Thursday night.

Did anyone watch "The League" premiere last night? I've read some good things about it, and it's supposedly by the same folks as Always Sunny.

I'm not a huge fan of the premise, but it definitely had its moments. I caught myself laughing out loud a couple of times, which is pretty rare. The song Taco sang at the birthday party? Priceless. www.hulu.com/watch/105153/the-league-the-birthday-song

I have to think Lost is back from 9-10 on Wednesdays. Having Cougartown at 8 and Modern Family at 8:30 hitting leadoff would be a great night.

So, OK. Pretty good debut for the re-imagining of V.
Juliet is a great female lead (I don't care what her actual name is on the show. I already forgot it anyway.....her name is Juliet! They might as well just call her that; it can be her code name.).
Scott Wolf....ehhh, not so much. But he doesn't completely suck.
I thought they were successful in pulling off a new "twist" to launch the show.
In the original, the twist, obviously, is that the visitors were lizards. Of course that wouldn't work again. We already know they're lizards. So, the idea of having the "sleeper cell agents" who've been on Earth for decades was a pretty good one I thought.
Plus, it leads to more intrigue. In the original, the visitors all wore uniforms and had those reverb voices, so you could identify them. Now, no one knows who they can trust. Good twist, IMO.
Glad they kept the idea of the fifth column. That will make for some fun.
I'm not sure I will be with this show for the long term, but they kept me for at least another episode.
So, I kind of tuned in and out of SyFy re-broadcasting the original two mini-series this weekend. V was ridiculously camp in retrospect and horribly acted by everyone (except, of course, for Faye Grant).
So here are some things we can do without: - a "star child" - stupid nicknames like "Gooder" - shirts open to navels, unless they are being worn by women - soliloquies - Robert Englund and jokes about messing up the English language - eating fake mice and birds - macho bravura
I think what they are going for is of course something along the lines of what the new Battlestar Galactica achieved with their re-invention.
I don't think they will be anywhere near that successful, but I think it has a chance at being a good show.
(and, of course, I will repeat: "Vote NO on universal health care!" ;D )

Agree with most of what you wrote re "V". would also add that Jane Badler needs to resurface in some form or another.

A minor role for someone from the original cast would be OK, but nothing more than that. Jane Badler may be older, but she's still pretty darn sultry.
