The article takes note of Mike Copeland's athleticism; however, he averaged 0.8 points and 0.8 rebounds in 17 games for the Tar Heels as a senior.

Last year Sapp started every game as he helped lead the Hoyas to consecutive BIG EAST Regular Season Championships.
How did we win consecutive BE titles in a single season??
;D
Congrats, Mayor, good luck! GLASGOW SAXA!!!

Sapp keen to rise to the challenge www.heraldscotland.com/sport/other-sports-news/sapp-keen-to-rise-to-the-challenge-sapp-keen-to-rise-to-the-challenge-1.921460Jessie Sapp, Glasgow Rocks’ new signing, has asked for patience while he adjusts to the professional game, despite scoring 32 points on his debut for the Kelvin Hall side in Monday’s friendly against USA Select, writes Mark Woods. The New York-born guard, who spent the past four years at Georgetown University in Washington DC, is set to form a high-scoring backcourt pairing with Rob Yanders when the Rocks start their BBL campaign on Sunday against Newcastle. However, after just three weeks of pre-season training, Sapp admits he still has a lot to learn. “It’s a tough adjustment,” he said. “There isn’t going to be a big difference but there will be a difference I need to adapt to. I’m anxious more than nervous. But I’m anxious to get this first real game out of the way.”

I wonder if they cheer "What Rocks" like we do? We chant "Go Rocks" and "Let's Go Rocks, Let's Go" Thanks to rjmaxx for posting a link to my video - I'm posting up a longer video tonight. I'll post a link here when it's available. Jessie played really well on Monday (as did Mike Copeland). However, the biggest test will be this Sunday when we play our biggest rivals Newcastle Eagles.

welcome to HoyaTalk, foxprorawks. Count me among the jealous that you get to see Sapp play! Glad to hear that he's playing well so far. For many of us, he was one of our all-time favorite Hoyas.
Keep us updated!

If you guys are interested, I'll definitely keep you updated. The game on Sunday will be pretty tough - when players join a professional club they need a little time to adjust. Jessie already said in one of the newspapers here that he'll need a little time to settle in. markbritball.blogspot.com/2009/09/rocks-sapp-i-need-to-adapt.htmlHaving said that, he looks as if he's doing fine. Mike Copeland from UNC is our other new guy - both of them seem to have bonded well with our existing players, which is a great sign. I'll post results etc. to this thread.

We're definitely interested. Jessie is one of my favorite Hoyas.
We call him "Onions" because of his proclivity for stepping up in crunch time.

Rocks Lose Thrilling Opening Game to Eagles www.scottishrocks.co.uk/Home/News&action=fullnews&id=176The Glasgow Rocks have lost their first game of the 2009/10 season 86 - 90 to Newcastle Eagles. It was a thrilling battle which saw the Rocks mount a courageous comeback in the fourth quarter having fallen thirteen behind in the third. Jessie Sapp stood out for the Rocks scoring 26 in his competitive debut for the Kelvin Hall side.

Just got back from the game.
Very exciting, Eagles took the win. Bear in mind, though, that Eagles are at full strength whereas Rocks are effectively a man down (we're still looking for a big man).
Jessie didn't score much in the first half, but the shots started dropping in for him in the second half.
Despite the loss, I'm pretty happy with the game. It's a long season, and Jessie appears to have adjusted well.

Great to hear foxpro. Saw that Jessie and two other guys played all 40 minutes, so good luck beefing up the roster
