Unfortunately, it sounds like Mike Gilchrest hurt his shin but is playing through it. he was going against Harrison Barnes/Lakers. Young man is a competitor. I hear he always wants to win EVERY drill even in practice.

i like the sound of lubick and kendrick being teamates. hopefully the staff is on kendrick hard.
btw is this a dead period for coaches or are they able to watch them play? and if so what kind of a presence do we have?

I notice that Markel Starks is playing with Jared Sullinger. How has Sullinger looked and how has Starks looked playing with Sullinger? Thanks. Great thread.

From scout (evan daniels):
Jelan Kendrick, Wing: He’s been outstanding at camp and has the physical attributes that give him a distinct advantage: length, body style and natural ability.
Rakeem Christmas, C: Aside from Michael Gilchrist, Christmas has been the rising junior who made the biggest leap at camp. Dominant as a shot blocker and above the rim rebounder he’s cranking it up.

as per scout from day 2 evening session:
Roscoe Smith, SF – It was clear that he knew he was matching up with Barnes in the evening session. Offensively he attacked Barnes and did a good job of knocking down mid-range jumpers. On the opposite end he was active and showed a good amount of effort trying to slow the opposition down. Smith finished with nine points in the game.

from rivals:
Jelan Kendrick (2010 small forward) - Kendrick continues to impress with his savvy overall play. As much as a point guard as anything, he is making an enormous push for top-10 status in the country. Presently he is tied with Will Barton at the No. 8 spot on the top scoring list.

from nbe:
Jelan Kendrick Good looing basketball specimen. Good looking jumpshot. Adaquette speed. Great fitness, runs up and down the court with ease. Good hustle. Godd court IQ too. Kendrick will be fun to watch prosper in college.

I wouldn't jinx it by referring to non-commits as "future Hoyas." Nonetheless thanks for the info.

Jelan and Markel as a future back court would be incredible offensively.
Future hoyas you say?

Apparently, elite guard Brandon Knight mentioned he's considering Georgetown while at NBPA Camp (from ESPN):
"Knight, who averaged 15.3 points in six games at the camp, has not whittled his list down yet and is still considering Duke, Kentucky, Miami, Connecticut, Syracuse, Kansas, Clemson, Florida, Georgetown and Florida State, among others."

Brandon Knight is the best player in the 2010 class, do not fall for the harrison Barnes hype. But Knight coming to Gtown is more of a dream than reality. Expect it to be a Miami/Florida battle.

Seems like a lot of local players made the all-star team. Do any of you recruiting gurus know if JTIII is recruiting Justin Coleman from Henrico?

Seems like a lot of local players made the all-star team. Do any of you recruiting gurus know if JTIII is recruiting Justin Coleman from Henrico? Justin Coleman is being monitored. He is a great athlete, but a bit raw as far as hoops skills. He also has had grade issues, so schools are just checking him out now.
