we are just having one thread for the overall NBPA camp since all of these guys are playing with and against each other:
From Rivals: Justin Coleman:(2010 small forward)- Whether he was dunking, finishing difficult lay ups or nailing jumpers from well behind the arc, Coleman was constantly on the attack offensively. He is a high level athlete with a impressive motor who has a skill game which will continue to develop. Mark him down as a four-star when the rankings are reshuffled before the July evaluation period.
Mike Gilchrest: (2011 small forward)- Gilchrist has clearly established himself as head and shoulders above the other prospects in the 2011 class, and he might just be on his way to establishing himself as the top prospect in the country regardless of class. At times looking more like a point guard playmaker than a forward, Gilchrist repeatedly attacked off the dribble, finishing plays with both impressive scores and passes. He has all the tools- physical, intangible and skill- to be a wing of the highest level.
Jalen Kendrick: (2010 small forward)- Comfortable with the basketball anywhere on the court, Kendrick scored from multiple locations. He is a unique prospect with his length, feel for the game and point guard like skills.
Terrence Jones: (2010 power forward)- This big bodied four man continues to develop has a player. The lefty had an impressive post move to his off side, changed directions on the dribble, passed at his usual high level and had a controlling presence over the game.
From Scout:
Rockets 86 Jazz 76 Balanced scoring keyed the win as the Rockets led by Trey Ziegler with 16 and Terrence Jones with 15, trumpeted by the Jazz 86-76. Stacy Poole led the Jazz with 19 and was assisted in the scoring column by Jelan Kendrick and Richard Solomon with 15 and 11 respectively. A pair of Michael’s, Gilcrest and Cobbins added 12 each for the Rockets.
Hawks 84 Magic 76 Team defense and some outstanding offensive board work helped lift the Hawks to an 84-76 win over the Magic. Josh Selby was dynamic on the offensive end blowing past would be defenders for a team high 16 points. Anthony Brown and LaQuinton Ross finished with 10 each for the Hawks. Justin Coleman was the game high scorer with 23
Michael Gbinije was strong his morning game. Versatile guy.

Blurb from Scout:
Justin Coleman, SF – Relatively unheard of prior to this event, Coleman, a 6-foot-4, 205-pounder, didn’t waste any time showing off his talent at the NBA Camp. A strong, athletic wing, Coleman went for 23 points in his first round game. To go with the handful of three-pointers he knocked in, Coleman also scored at the rim. He’s a high level athlete that has no problem finishing above the rim. He didn’t show a middle game, but he’s got time to develop that.
Jelan Kendrick, SF – A unique prospect, Kendrick is a versatile player that can play a handful of positions. At 6-foot-5 he sees the floor very well and is a talented passer. On this day, Kendrick was looking to get buckets and he made it look easy. He relentlessly attacked the rim, and when he didn’t make it all the way to the tin, he showed his nice touch by dropping in floaters. Kendrick scored 15 in his opening round game.
Terrence Jones had his moments in the first session. His length is always a factor defensively and he continues to be aggressive on the offensive end.

Grae,
From your post it looks like we are recruiting Coleman. How interested are we? Just curious since I don't think there is a recruiting thread for the kid.
On a side note, I hope Markel is putting in some recruiting work for us with Jelan etc.

Looks like our prospects are doing pretty well for themselves. Always nice to hear... when are we going to hear if any of these prospects become commits?

His game is still a bit raw, but he is talented

Blurb Per Northstarblog:
1. Watching Cavs (Brandon Knight, Rakeem Christmas, Roscoe Smith) vs. Celtics (Kyrie Irving, Jason Morris, Daniel Bejarano, and Nate Lubick) 2. Nate Lubick is dominating. 3. Nate Lubick is having a field day, helping lead the Celtics to a 45-29 lead over the Cavs late in the 2nd quarter. 4. Nate Lubick just dunked right on Roscoe Smith. Wow. 5. Rockets over Hornets, 76-73. Markel Starks has come on strong in the 2nd half, helping the Hornets cut the deficit to 3 points with under 2 minutes to play. 6. Joe Jackson and Michael Gilchrist are both playing very well in the 2nd half. The Hornets lead 69-61 with 7 minutes to go

when are we going to hear if any of these prospects become commits? Gtown already has two good commits for 2010. No rush to take anymore till spring. My friend, I have serious doubts the other targets for the Hoyas in 2010 will still be unsigned by the spring. Its the summer and the fall where I think most of the recruiting will be decided.

Its the summer and the fall where I think most of the recruiting will be decided. Not true. Actually most of them will be spring guys. GU can only take one more commit in the fall anyway, then will have to wait until Monroe declares (a second after the season ends) to take a fourth commit. More importantly, this thread is about the NBPA camp. So lets not derail it with this stuff. If someone wants to have this conversation please start a new thread. I do not want anything to do with that conversation because it is absolutely pointless (like preseason predictions)

If Monroe is as gone as you say, we will definitely be taking two players in the fall if they are our top targets. The staff has never showed hesitation in the past to take too many guys, I remember before Jeffs last season we were two schollies over the limit for the following year when we got Chris. That worked out and I am sure it will work out if we do it this year.

Besides classroom losers like Born Ready what big time players recently held off all the way to spring before at least committing?

Ease up, graeagle. It was a legitimate question that took up a few posts that in no way threatened to take the thread off-course. I too like to keep things on topic but you have to allow some leeway when a legit side discussion comes up as a result of a comment. Its not as if anyone started discussing the LeBron James Skill Camp in this thread or something or decided to debate who would be the Hoyas new assistant coach.

Not mad at ya. That question just gets asked in every thread, normally by the same posters. You of all people are anti-clutter. It is not a big deal in the general recruiting threads, but let folks follow the NBPA camp in this thread. It takes a second to start a new thread about who will commit. We have had plenty of those threads, so someone can simply start a new one. And everyone can play that pointless guessing game if they want...

Blurb from rivals:
Rakeem Chrismas: 2011 center)- Christmas, who is known for his shot blocking ability, immediately established himself as a defensive force to be reckoned with. Shortly thereafter he went to work on the offensive end. Taking advantage of the slower Alex Kirk, Christmas turned high level post moves into dunks and even drained a nifty jump hook. With his developing offensive game, Christmas is one of the most intriguing big men in the 2011 class.
Michael Gbinije (2011 small forward)- A great looking wing prospect, Gbinije contributes in numerous ways with his skilled and heady play. He has also shot the ball well from the outside which has put him at No. 10 on the camp's scoring leaders.

from scout:
Nate Lubick, PF: Someone forgot to tell Lubick that his game (Knight vs. Irving) was supposed to be center stage for the backcourt guys. Lubick hustled his way to 17 points and used his “old school” approach to get it done. Others have prettier games, but Lubick grinds it out, runs the floor and has developed his face-up game.
