Huge jumps for some Hoya hopefuls:
(7) Barton (11) Kendrick (16) Roscoe (27) Terrence Jones (44) Odom
Hoya commits (54) Markel (60) Nate

Markel is too low. Andre Dawkins is too high. Imo. Kid can stroke it and has ups, but hasn't reached top 10 level yet. Again, imo.

Yep. Hopefully we'll get one of the five (although I suspect Barton is not really in play). I'd take two, though I think the bigger need may be down low.

SF - Maybe I haven't been paying attention but what makes you suspect we're not in play with Barton anymore?

SF - Maybe I haven't been paying attention but what makes you suspect we're not in play with Barton anymore? I dunno anything more than what's publicly available, but it doesn't seem like he was ever all that interested in us and vice versa. Maybe one created the other, maybe it is truly mutual... but you never see us mentioned with him. Plus, people think he's a lock to Kentucky.

i was under the impression he is interested in hoyas but with other options, and due his academics, the staff hasn t put on much of a press. could his 7th ranking just be a way of fueling the fire of the stupid amount of kentucky fans talking smack on rivals?
one name that stood out was vic oladipo. he is now top 75 ( 76 actually ) and a 4star. anyone have any info if we are involved?
seems like jalen is getting some love as well.

sorry but since nate is apparently the best player in new england, how is odom ranked ahead of him(not that i don't like odom, just we're not going to get him). both of our commits are ranked well too low. both should be top 40.

If our commits were going to Duke or UNC, they would be Top 30. These rankings are directional at best.

As Odom has been identified as being recruited by GU, I'm just curious as to why anyone would say we are NOT going to get him. What's the basis for that conclusion?

Selby is ranked one ahead of Roscoe, at 15. Obviously the rankings aren't perfect but the main point is the Hoyas are on some really ballas for 2010 (who cares if Markel and Nate aren't ranked a lot higher, we all know they can ball - this class is going to be special with 2 more kids). I would be happy with almost all of these kids. Another top 10 kid listing the Hoyas is Cory Joseph. Highly doubtful that we land him (and we have Markel coming in), but I like that kid as well.
That said, I really hope we land Kendrick. JTIII can shore up his defense. Big fan (from what I've seen).

As usual subpar rankings from Rivals. To rate Odom and Morris ahead of Nate is a joke. Thorton being in the top 100 is not good either.
As someone said above should just be good motivation for Nate.

This may be tacky on my part but I'm loving the "fall" of Hairston and Thornton. Of course in the end it won't matter. Its what they do on the court that counts. But as of right now I get some joy out of it.
