I knew this would start the second he asked for his release from the Jets. If he dares to put this ish on again, the Jets deserve serious compensation. And Mangini too since Favre essentially cost him his job. I guess it's time to turn off ESPN for the next two months.

It's hard to say how much there is to this. One report had a flight from Minneapolis to Hattiesburg ... staying there 7 1/2 hours and then returning to Minnesota.
I wouldn't be shocked if Favre does want to play again. I think he loves the sport and doesn't want to bite the bullet. I think he knows that he "should," but can't make that desire go away.
The one part that doesn't make a heck of a lot of sense was the "sticking it to the Packers at the same time" line. I know he showed interest in playing for Minnesota last year, but I always thought that was just because it was the best fit for him to step in an take over immediately without any sort of QB controversy. But that one article implies some sort of vengence or similar. I always thought that GB treated him like royalty. I'm sure some fans blame him for going to play for anyone else, but in general, I thought he was and still is very popular. If there is some animosity there on his part, I don't know where it would come from.

Hate to burst your bubble since I know how much you SEC folk love tracking FlightAware to figure out which coaches are interviewing where, but that plane had Target (headquarters: Minneapolis) executives on it. www.todaystmj4.com/bloggers/lanceallan/44034022.html Why they were going to Hattiesburg, I have no idea. I for one am eagerly awaiting today's Peter King column, because I just ran out of my last serving of ipecac a few days ago. On edit: Oh, yeah, MMQB is already out, and it's surprisingly not as terrible as expected.

I wasn't implying that there was anything to that, just pointing out where someone was making a story. Whether there was anything to it or not, I obviously had no idea. And as to the comment of us SEC folk making something out of flights, I meant to mention that we all know what there wasn't to that sort of story last time.

i for one cant get enough of Farve and his retiring/not retiring. i wish there was more coverage of it on ESPN and online. if i go more than ten minutes without hearing about it i start to have a panic attack. I am really interested in it because i have no support of the Jets, Minn. or Green Bay, i couldnt name anyone on their rosters except adrian peterson. ESPNF (ESPN farve) with 24 hour coverage is what i want. I mean there are so many things people could be speculating on right now. Is farve fishing? Is he hunting? is he filming another cialis commercial? These are all things i MUST know NOW!!

How long before "Mort" starts bragging about Favre looking "Sensational" in a workout with HS kids against air? What do I win if he returns? I said he'd do this again and he's egomaniacal dimwit who thinks he'd be "sticking it to the Packers" when in reality--he'd be screwing the Vikings over---as he's not had surgery for the torn labrum and in all honesty has the work habits of a heroin addict--which he shares more in common with due to his past--but I'll save that for his "They came to Sippi to get me--I'm Back" Clemens moment that is sure to happen. Upon hearing that--does Madden "un-retire" immediately or within a week of the announcement?

I for one am eagerly awaiting today's Peter King column, because I just ran out of my last serving of ipecac a few days ago. On edit: Oh, yeah, MMQB is already out, and it's surprisingly not as terrible as expected.Peter King columns have to include: 1. Worship of Brett Favre 2. Worship of Bill Parcells 3. Red Sox mentions as if entire nation is Boston centered My favorite--when he connects Parcells to Red Sox despite the fact that: a. Parcells is best friends with Tony LaRussa and claims to be a Cardinals fan too b. This "long/diehard" Sox fan Parcells is seen on NFL Films interview when he was coaching Giants wearing a New York Yankee Windbreaker. It's one of the most famous NFL Films interviews too--because Steve Sabol actually goes to Parcells home and they sit by pool. No Sox fan would EVER be seen wearing Yankee gear at any moment. So it shows that King doesn't do any research and that Parcells is a big fat lying piece of crap who doesn't care about football as much as making money he lost from his divorce and acting like he knows all. As for Favre--love how King says "I'm sick of it too". No he's not. He's in love with the guy. I'd place a wager with anyone that King has asked Favre out on a date--to teach him how to be a "man". He's in love with him--and Favre knows it and lets Peter know his inner thoughts--which consist of: 1. Which defensive player will I throw a pick to? 2. How many pain pills should I take with this Schlitz? 3. Do I look tougher with my George Michael beard or with 1 day growth? 4. Is the Elementary school open for my workout or should I stick to HS? 5. Will DeAnna write another poem about me and read it on ESPN?

At least we got a solid rdf rant out of this bc I know how this ends-with Favre and his torn labrum in Purple. At least year you could have made the argument Favre was an upgrade at QB. You can't even do that this year, which means its guaranteed to happen, since it'll screw over the Vikings

Goddell would step in, seeing as one of the most popular players ever is making a mockery of contract obligations, but a black player just did a celebration dance so he's busy raining down his almighty punishment.

As much as I might agree with your sentiment that NFL is, in fact, now standing too much for the No Fun League, let's not conjur up some racial issue when there isn't one.

My good friend and native Wisconsinite is trying to start a trend on Twitter to show the outrage both Pack fans and not have towards Favre. So if you're sick of his ish and are on Twitter, use #Shut upfavre when addressing the matter. Thanks

Good to have a different topic in the press than the swine flu. Disagree. As a Vikings fan/Favre hater, I'd rather talk about the Swine flu.

This does create some big problems in terms of loyalties. Most Viking fans hate Favre, and most Favre lovers hate the Vikings. I'm not sure which group will take this harder.

It is not outside the realm of possibility that Favre is still working for the Packers and is infiltrating the Vikings to destroy them.
And even if that's not the case, I'm betting the Packers think it might as well be.

I don't really have a dog in this fight. I always had a special place in my heart for Favre because he beat the Seminoles when he was at Southern Miss, but other than that, I don't really care much either way about the Vikings or Packers. But purely from a "fit" standpoint, I think Minnesota might be a great way for Favre to (finally) end his career (and we mean it this time!!). That offensive line would probably protect him pretty well. Of course A-Pete would run the ball, control the game and control the clock. And yes, I think Harvin will be a big time playmaker in the NFL. I can't help but think that Favre might be just what Minnesota needs to get over the hump and be a factor. I'm not suggesting Super Bowl champs or anything, but at least competitive and maybe playoff team. Heck, winning a playoff game wouldn't surprise me.
