I think JTIII was waiting for the annual coaches musical chairs to be filled and see what recruits fall out. Doesn't look like any of them are looking at us. If we could get that shooter from Santa Clara and a pair from our short list, we might be in good shape. We could use a juco, but getting them into GU will be hard academically, after all were are not UMCP.

saw the cap classic saturday and it didn't seem like the US allstars were motivated much, but that being said. Olasewere was pretty good at the little things. He plays big and seemed to be one of the very few playing defense, tipping basketballs, rebounding, outlet passing. Always seems to be in the right place at the right time. keeps going until the end of the game... not saying he's Jesus Shuttlesworth, but i'd take him.

Omar was brought in to be a knock down shooter and play a little D. Well he did neither. His lack of D was cuz he's not that athletic and couldn't stay in front anybody. So now, he needs to be recruited over.

where would you rather have your degree from GU or East Tenn State? he does try hard, but is not an athletic D-1 player. he got pt early because of his work in practice and was used as an example to the other players to work harder.

may-be. i think he'll prove you guys wrong IF given the opportunity. there have been plenty of great players who have had those same credentials. i'll take instincts and desire over any day. heck, i'd take J.O. over three current players we HAVE anyday. But we'll see. thanks for the debate guys - this is fun!

Lubick already does everything jamal O does only much better and with a Big East body. Nobody is going to waste a schollie on a guy that will just sit the bench for one season. Plus his grades are not great, so doubt it happens even as a walk-on. Although I would like him as a walk-on. Does anyone know if him walking on is a possibility or are we just hoping? If so that would seem like a steal to me! I'll take a first team all met walk-on any day of the week.

See i dont 100% agree on that he cant guard SF's...i mean i can think of a player in the past named Jaron Brown at Pittsburgh who was essentially 6'3 and wasnt super quick and couldnt really shoot outside of 10ft...but that guy started and played alot cause he scraped and knew how to take advantage of his man in the blocks...i do think his shooting is problematic but shooting is something you can develop...i think he can handle the ball well enough to play as a 3 in the offense, and maybe can play a 4 man if we want to go small....i think of dwayne anderson of villanova too a guy who wasn that great of a shooter when he left to go to villanova was a inside guy at 6'3....i dont think he will be a major contributor next year but could be an asset cause of his athelitc ability later on in his career.

Is Dwayne Anderson shrinking? I realize most people aren't their listed heights, but when did he become 6'3"

No inside info but I think it's just hoping. Jamal could definitely get a full ride to a mid-major, so why pay money to sit on the bench at Georgetown if you can get a full ride elsewhere and have a better chance to get minutes? To me it seems that Jamal is really a backup plan. We'll need to add SOME bodies for next year, and if some of our other options for the frontcourt fall through (like Latavious Williams), then Jamal may come into the picture.

I realize most people aren't their listed heights, but when did he become 6'3" i mistyped and missed the 4...i meant 6'4" and he isnt that much taller than that now, there is no way he is 6'6"...ill give him maybe 6'5"...but corey stokes looks taller than him on his own team..and he is listed at 6'6" but thats basically the point I was getting at......I not like sign Olasewere up if there are better opyions available, but for the 13th guy its not the worst selection..thats what i consider him if he comes here.

now that omar isnt coming back, i see little reason not to offer him a scholie I do. I'd first like to get someone better than Jamal with the schollie, then I'd offer him...
