To echo what Eagle said, honestly, in the eyes of the Gtown staff Jalen Kendrick is still above Barton for the SG spot. Kendrick is a better offensive player (needs to improve defense) and Kendrick is a much better student. Now that does not mean the Gtown will get Kendrick or does not want Barton. But Barton is so behind academically that he is going to have to attend a borderline diploma mill 5th year highschool. There is a reason the Gtown has always recruited guys like Kendrick, Odom, and Morris ahead of Barton at the SG spot. So even though Barton had a better year in the classroom this year, people should not expect Gtown's recruiting order to change. Also remember that Barton should be in this 09 class not 2010. While a kid like Rod Odom should be in the 2011 class. So it is all relative. At the end of the day Gtown fans should be happy with any two of the following: Roscoe Kendrick Odom Terrance Jones(getting much better) Barton Morris(gtown is not really recruiting him as much anymore) Also Joseph from Findley Prep is a nice combo guard I will be glad with anyone on the list!

Capitolhoops.com is hit or miss on info sometimes, but they make it sound like Barton to UK is likely and to be honest that's what I expect as well. Have read that Calipari is making a big push for him since moving to UK and wants him to go to a prep school in Kentucky. Not sure if that will happen but if I were betting I'd bet that he ends up at UK. capitolhoops.com/atkinschoosesnoredame.htmAlso in the same article, former Hoya target and former teammate of Henry Sims, Eric Atkins, committed to Notre Dame. Good fit for both sides I think, and not really a loss to the Hoyas considering that we landed our man at the point in 2010. Considering that the Georgetown Rivals site is normally miss, miss, miss, hit; if another site is hit or miss then that is pretty good odds. Anyway, those fifth year repeat guys always come down to the wire to see if they will even qualify as we have all seen. John Wall has not even taken his SAT yet (or had someone take it for him), but every school is sitting on his decision.

Talked to him to today wouldn't admit Kentucky is his school of choice. He is leaning towards Brewster Academy for next year.

Barton did not mention Hoyas in a Scout interview with Eric Bossi. Sounds like Kentucky leads with Kansas right there behind the Wildcats.

Update from ESPN.com: Will Barton in no rush, according to KU site Shooting guard Will Barton recently spoke with ESPN's Kansas affiliate website www.theshiver.com and rattled off a number of high major programs he is interested in. Kansas, Kentucky, Louisville, Maryland, Texas, Miami, Georgetown, Arizona, Xavier, Marquette, Providence and Pittsburgh were just some of the schools ESPN.com's No. 12 ranked player listed. Speaking about the Jayhawks, Barton had his to say: "Coach Self is a great coach. His teams get up and down in transition. I like him (Self) a lot. I have talked to him a lot and always have good conversations. Coach Dooley has been out to see me too at an open gym. They are doing a good job recruiting me. "Kansas is a great school, a great program, good academics, and great school," Barton added. "I have watched KU a lot and like how they get up and down, good defensive pressure, which I am familiar with since my high school plays a similar style." Barton does not expect to narrow his list until the end of the summer. A decision will then come after consulting with his family and coach.

This commitment baffles me totally. Why would the now #1 ranked SG in America make a commitment to a coach with no track record and a program that is currently under the microscope for test scores et al? Most of the time I am happy to just read what Graegle, TonyDeals RDF Balla and RB have to say, but this time I just have shake my head and say WTF are you thinking young man?
