This kid plays with Lake Clifton and he is nice. I love the way he plays. I like him better in Roscoe Smith to be honest. 6'4" athletic kid. I want him in a Georgetown jersey. I know its gonna be hard, shaky grades (3 schools in 3 years) but atleast check and see if his grades have improved. Why go after Kendrick if we have Will in our own back year. They play at 3pm Saturday at Comcast for the state champiionship. Should be a good one.

I really like Barton a lot as well, from everything I've read. There are a lot of people in Baltimore who think Barton is unfairly overshadowed by Roscoe, and think that Will is as good or better but just not getting as much hype. Will is a top 25 type talent but doesn't get even half as much press/hype as Roscoe, and according to some they are very evenly matched on talent.
I'm not sure if he and Roscoe might not like each other? I've heard the trash talk between the two during their game this year was pretty intense. I don't know if that was just gamesmanship or if they legitimately don't get along and wouldn't want to play together. Normally I wouldn't think anything of it but when two high profile guys go at each other that hard and you hear some stories about how there might be some resentment from Barton's people about how people are sleeping on him, maybe they actually don't like each other and wouldn't be keen on playing together. Considering that Roscoe has been our unquestioned #1 priority, maybe that would explain why we seem to be recruiting a guy from out of the area like Kendrick harder than a stud at the same position in our backyard like Barton. I'm just speculating.
Academics I guess are a factor too. Next year will be Will's 5th in high school, meaning he'll have to go to a different/prep school. I know Nova, Maryland and a lot of others are on him though so it seems that most people seem to think he's got the academics straightened out, more or less.

will is a 2 guard while roscoe is more of a 3. if we miss on roscoe, could will and jalen play together, with will playing the 3 spot?

Unfortunately, sometimes many around a kid will have more beef cause of a perceived slight than the kid himself does.

He wouldn't be the first kid to have shaky grades. He is doing well at Lake and he has another year!

Ok I like this kid. He is skilled, long, and athletic. We need wings that fit this ID very badly. He reminds me of a young right handed Jalen Rose. Looks like he has a little street in him too. We have been missing that for a while.
All the wings that GTown is recruiting need to be of a similar build and skill set of this kid. This kid would be a huge get.
No more plodders at the 2 and the 3!!!

Wow, thanks RDF. Great videos.
Sidenote: I can't thank all of you recruiting buffs enough for your input on this recruiting board, on top of the fantastic inside scoop you all provide it has been great delving into it these past few months and has really taken the edge of the season off by not having to deal with the incessant negativity of the main board. So thank you to RDF, tonydeals, harwood, balla, idhoya, lexkyhoya, graeagle, and the others I know I'm missing, you guys all know who you are, your info is so valuable and a great reprieve to some of us.
Back on topic.....
His leaping ability is fantastic and I love his ability to finish on the break, something we need desperately.
My only concerns are putting on weight, which he has a whole year ahead of him to do that before college, and him possibly showboating, which JT3 would never put up with anything over the top anyways.
This kid seems very legit and I can't wait to hear more about him.

i'd give him at least 6'5-6'6. kid has had a bit of a growth spurt since last winter/spring. his game has also developed. he's looking very polished. i would take roscoe, odom, and barton. all guys with length and multiple skills--never seen odom but i have heard. having length and skill on the perimeter is very important. hoyas have always been involved with Barton. this is great that he will be playing for Team Takeover. gbinije too. voices.washingtonpost.com/recruitinginsider/2009/03/former_national_christian_star.html?wprss=recruitinginsidermaryland, nova, pitt, and GTOWN get mentioned most with him. sounds like he will prep next year-leaving a hole at lake clifton.

Another skinny potential recruit?

skinny potential recruit? correct me if i am wrong easyed but it sounds like you don't think much about the kid. i think most everyone who has seen Barton play would say he is a legit prospect. we could have used his toughness and athleticism on the wing. some of our players this year who got significant playing time would have trouble guarding this kid. he is not being recruited to correct our rebounding problems--but for his size/position he is a good rebounder.
