Wow. How often does DeMatha lose basketball players to other schools? Seems pretty unusual.

Seems like the Mom said it was a move to get away from PG county. Too many leeches is her exact quote.
Doesn't look like Dematha was the problem.

Scout blurb on Cook's transfer says that Quinn is about to see Duke's interest in him pick up substantially.

Cook would be a fine addition to the Hoyas. He is the type of athlete that Georgetown need.

Cook quote from Duke Scout site article:
"Arizona, Connecticut, UCLA, Georgetown, and St. John's have all been on me the hardest of late. I think I have elevated my game and coaches are starting to notice more. Overall I like all the schools on my list and I'm looking for one where I can have the best career. One with an up tempo offense and with a great coach."

Heard he's a Duke lock but they are loaded at guard. Assault is building a nice pipeline there.

Duke is a good bet. That said, they might look elsewhere, and Quinn should take note that Curry has three more years of eligibility and there's a good chance Austin Rivers is coming in 2012. Presumably Irving will be there 2 years max.

They also brought in Tyler Thornton this year. He's not all that flashy, but he's a player and Cook knows it.

I've been hearing for the longest time that he's not coming to Georgetown, and if true, I'd just hope he would officially cut the Hoyas off of his list so the coaches could focus their efforts on truly attainable players.
Then again, I hope everything I've heard is complete b.s. because aside from the fact he's also a DeMatha guy, he could be a dynamic player at the collegiate level.

I watched him play 5 games this past week and he's Scottie Reynolds-like--undersized combo--but a better passer then Scottie--same level of awful defense. Didn't shoot it well at all-but his passing/getting others involved was greatly improved.
Nate James was there to see him play too.

I know the kid and he's a nice hardworker but I never have been sold on him as Duke or UNC level guy. Plus he's only 5'11. Thornton will leave before its all said and done. Didn't know what he was getting himself into plus he was more of a package deal with Josh Hairston. I think Quinn is better than him.

I believe the board members who have been telling us this kid will never come to GU.

One thing we've learned since Roscoe is that your guess is as good as the next board member, unless you hear it from the kid himself or his parents.
