this was discussed earlier and this came out before DaJuan publicly said anything about staying so take that as you like...

There's about a million ways it could go...
- Timing - "Probably" is vague - Communication between all parties on something like probably or going/testing - Summers just saying he's staying for team cohesion purposes/media purposes, etc.
Who knows?

I like that JT3 is on LW, no matter what DS decides to do. DS and Co. know that playing time next year will be up for grabs.

Any time you can pick up a Top 15 recruit, it is huge! Especially someone who seems to fit our needs so well.
GO JT3
Come on Latavious

Yeah, i would add that maybe Latavious thought that was the reason and said it (that is an easy inference to make). Either way like was said before, even if Dajuan does leave Williams would still have to fight for playing time (even if the team was like a bunch of bryon jansens he would probably still have to fight for PT) No way for us to know what was said between the two regarding Dajuan.

Based on his skills, he wouldn't have to fight very hard.

Balla was high on Latavious last year--and if he had grades in order last year--he was one he mentioned we should target/take a year ago.
Hopefully we get him this Spring!

according to a baylor site, the top 3 are gtown, memphis, and baylor. i'm sure that massive slimeball calipari will do his worst to get him, but i still like our chances.

"Superior athlete who runs, rebounds and dunks. Loves to get out in transition and finish with a momentum changing jam. Needs to play with consistent effort. Can be a dominant rebounding force and will get them in traffic. Patrols the paint as a shot blocker and has been known to intimidate." From reading Rivals, the above quoate would fit Williams but it actually is an old Rivals quoate on Vernon Macklin. Don't know if thats good or bad.

Yeah, the recruiting descriptions of this kid definitely remind me of Macklin - but hey, VM would have really helped us this season, so if that's what he is, I'd take it, I guess. Hoping he would be better offensively and not such a bricklayer at the sin stripe.

If you go to previous pages in THIS thread--we've described what his playing style is--think more PE JR, Tyrus Thomas (although not as tall/long as Thomas) and Jerome "JYD" Williams.

Dajuan is playing out of position and our rebounding has gotten destroyed because of it. Hopefully Latavious is a better 4 by accident.

Giga, you're interpretation is quite a stretch from the actual quote. "He said they need an athletic 4 man because Summers is probably leaving".OK, a few key points 1. Summer is probably leaving 2. Since Summers has been playing the 4 (out of necessity) they need a 4 to replace him. 3. Since they need a 4, it might as well be an athletic 4 who likes to bang and board. Jumping to the connection between 2 & 3 as being relevant to Summers is simply conjecture. IMHO, Summers is pretty athletic, but -- like you -- I don't believe he is really a 4. Not that he isn't capable of being a 4, but his mind set isn't there. I think that is really your point. After all that, if I were Latavious and I saw GU starting Summers and Nikita at the F spots, and thinking maybe one of them won't even return and even if he does... hey, this team needs help at the Forward position. Man, the door is wide open for me to come in and help these guys and get some major minutes as a frosh! At least I hope that is what he is thinking, and not focusing on the disappointing second half of our season.

Word is that Demarcus Cousins committed to Memphis on his visit. Cousins/Latavious kind of play same position.
