I just read a great and somewhat concerning article on CBSSPORTS it is about a recruit to Wisconsin but he withdrew his commitment from Wisconsin after reading the fans questioning his commitment with his grades falling short and became very uncomfortable with 40 year olds criticizing him, a 16 year old. Sounds like something some of the posters on our board should keep in mind when they post including about Latavious...http://www.cbssports.com/collegebasketball/story/11776517

Again, I reiterate: If you want a free ride to college because you play a game, these things happen. If you want to be a professional athlete, these things happen. People question you. People attack you. People doubt you. People mock you on message boards. It's part of being an athlete. Is it fair or ideal? Probably not. But that's athletics. If you don't like it, stop looking to get paid obscene amounts of money for playing a game.

I think it's probably Memphis too. Too bad for the kid, as I think Memphis will shrink back into the fading mid-major it was before Cal arrived. If he picks us, great, he can probably give us some minutes next season. If not, no big deal. We're good already and the coaches can FINALLY focus their recruiting fully on the '10 and '11 classes.

how in God's name did this thread get to 45 pages? Was it because of posts like this?

hopefully it ends today. I think we're to the point that it doesn't really matter which way he chooses we just want to know now.
as for pope's comments. Get real. If a kid actually decommits because of something said on a message board then the kid is mentally weak and would fold under pressure. the real reason he is looking around is the guy committed at 15 and is rethinking his committment. He hasn't signed an loi he has every right to look around.

After the turmoil at Memphis this year and, subsequently, some of the stench of that program wafting to Kentucky, I'm finding it difficult to root against them at this point. If LW chooses Memphis, that'd be a nice little silver lining for them though, admittedly, very little in terms of consolation for all they've lost. I fear that the kid might be walking into a totally different circumstance than he's expecting given all that's happened there. Whichever way he chooses, best of luck to LW. I'll just be thankful that I can stop sifting through this thread for any real information.

Right, he's a "kid." Except then, a year later, when one of them wants to jump to the league or transfer, suddenly he's a grown man who needs to make "the right decision for his family." And without thinking twice, everyone on here pretends that the guy who was a "kid" a year earlier all of a sudden knows what the "right" decision is. You can't have it both ways. Should they be treated like adults or not?

Has he not announced yet?
Did he just realize its memorial day? Between this and visiting on Mother's Day - the kid or his handlers need a calendar.
