As long as we are on the topic of WE ARE ............GEORGETOWN, it would help if the fans could get it right.
The way the crowd is doing the call and response runs the We Are Georgetown together.
The way the cheer was done historically is
"We are (beat, beat) Georgetown (beat, beat)
We are (beat, beat) Georgetown (beat, beat)"
The cheer is much more powerful with the pauses.

Yeah, and coach has tried to instill that in the fans at Midnight Madness and other things, but I think it's just easier for everyone to do it in the same cadence as "Hoya Saxa"
SPEAKING OF WHICH, maybe it was mentioned on the other thread, but how awesome was the long (of course, now I can't remember if it was "Hoya Saxa" or "We Are Georgetown") cheer towards the end of the Providence game. The fans didn't stop the entire time the officials were reviewing. It was awesome.

Ok so where clear the side behind the benches you're Hoya and We Are.
Other Side You're Saxa and Georgetown.

A) Back in my day, 2100 meant you were making up a score.
B) You mentioned the beats, which are hard to keep track of from one side of the arena to the other without the drums, and I think relying on the drums every time the fans want to do the cheer kind of takes the liveliness out of it. In general, I think the beat kind of reigns it in, makes it stodgier.
As a disclaimer, this is just my opinion about it. Obviously it's important to you, coach and others that we do it with the beat and if that's what the crowd does, I'm not about to fold my arms and harumph about it. You'll hear me. Hoya Saxa.

Walked by the VC at 9 this AM and there were already students lined up. Gotta love that on Wednesday morning in sub-freezing temps. Hoya Saxa indeed

Hoya Blue was inviting students to "squeeze the orange" (i.e. giving away free orange juice) today in Red Square. not exactly throwing oranges at cardboard cut-outs, but creative (and refreshing) nonetheless.
