20 turnovers and 14+ offensive rebounds given up is playing well?

and they switched to a Duke game. I'm off to punch a wall, enjoy the negativity everyone. Let's regroup and crush Maryland.

This is definitely a horrible loss. They had control of the game but once again they got killed on the boards. This looks like it's going to be a problem once we get into Big East play. If they are going to go anywhere this year they better stop getting killed on the boards.

If an opposing shooter can make shots with Tatum has then I'll tip my cap. Lazy passes are an obvious problem but can be fixed rather quick hopefully. Really disappointed with Jesse's inbound TO then 5 seconds call late in the game.

We lost this game when we took out Monroe and Summers for an extended period of time and promptly gave up our lead and watched them build one of their own. Really awful substitutions by JTIII today, but that hasn't been a habit for him imo, so I'll chalk it up to a bad game. Overall, disappointing but not depressing. We look like a top 25 team, but not a top 10 team. That's pretty accurate.

Tatum has been matched up with by Omar... he may have made some shots but he is NOT ready to play the amount of minutes he has on the defensive end.
Jeremiah Rivers he is not.

Quick thoughts:
- Julian Vaughn is clueless and seems like he never leaves his feet for any play. - Henry has a long way to go. - Jessie really disappointed with his play down the line. Lazy passes and out of control driving. - Where's the set offense when they were playing man? - Need to work on passing with urgency. Especially Austin. - Nothing you can really do about Tatum. Tip your hat to him, he made some great shots. - Better work on the boards today but still needs a lot of work.

We are giving up way too many open 3 pt. shots as well. It was nice to see Wattad nail down a few open 3's today.

Jessie's lack on concentration on those two plays really hurt us and rebounding down the stretch was our downfall. However, Tennessee shot 10 for 15 from behind the arc and teams are not going to do that against us very often. This is a great learning experience for this team.

There were some good things today. Nice to see Wattad hit some threes. Disappointed in Sapp down the stretch. Monroe remains a big time player, a bit confused as to why JT III sat him in this kind of a game. Tennessee is supposed to win the SEC., not a bad loss - Summers played very well in stretches as well.
No reason to think the Hoyas won't improve. TN hit some big time shots. Don't like losing but there is alot to build on.

Wattad hit his three's, but Tatum was his defensive assignment and he failed miserably.
We threw away the game when we let them brick free throws and rebound the ball for another possession about 3 times in 45 seconds.

Tatum has been matched up with by Omar... he may have made some shots but he is NOT ready to play the amount of minutes he has on the defensive end. Jeremiah Rivers he is not. C'mon. The first shot was an inbounds where Wright was responsible. He then hit a shot when we were in a zone with Wattad flying out and then a mircale shot from the top of the key. I'm glad he is not Jeremiah Rivers, because we would have never had the lead in the 2nd half if he was.

Henry or Julian has to step up. Greg can't play 40 minutes a game.
Austin Freeman cannot play the 4 against elite teams. Not against Tennessee, and certainly not against the class of the Big East. I don't know why III insists on this. He is a good rebounder for his size. He cannot rebound against good power forwards.
I don't think lazy passes can go under the category of working off the rust early in the season. It's focus, and that has to fall on the coach.

Very disappointed in that we could have won that game. Jessie did not come through tonight -- some pretty bad TOs at crucial times.
That 3 possession Tennessee foul shooting travesty was the big turning point. Same issues as last year -- bad passing and terrible rebounding. Could get pretty ugly against the better BE teams.
On the other hand, I did not expect the team to set the world on fire in the beginning of the season and I am encouraged by a lot of what I saw.

In my opinion, you can hang this loss on two factors:
1. Lazy passing - Freeman and Sapp were the main culprits. We only took advantage of their aggressiveness on a few occasions. We should have been backdooring them to death.
2. Lack of Frontcourt depth - if that is what we can expect from Sims and Vaughn, then we will probably finish somewhere around 7th in the Big East.

Gotta say, I agree with you guys. It's pretty much Monroe and....nothing. If we cant get minutes from someone behind Monroe, we dont have a chance in the Big East. Losing Macklin hurt.

Glad to see you come out of the woodwork to dump on the team. Try making some posts of a positive nature in February or March.
Am I Editeded we lost, yes. But there are a lot of positives in today's game and the team has plenty of time to work on the negatives from today's game.
Just think, Monroe, Clark, Sims, Wright, and Wattad - none have played more than 20 games in college. Even Vaughn was limited last year. All are getting major time and all will only get better. There's a lot to take from this game and this will help us immensely come January and February.

I agree Sims and Vaughn need to step up their games. And can someone plus tell me why Sims keeps shooting 3's like he's good at it. The guy is 6-11, he should be posting up and also grabbing a lot of rebounds when he's in the game.
