Greg Echenique has an early leaderboard that "includes" Villanova, Rutgers, Georgetown and Syracuse. He's a 2009 PF and I believe plays HS ball with Samardo Samuels. www.cstv.com/sports/m-baskbl/stories/071807aao.htmlAlso mentions us on the list of Richard Howell, who was mentioned early.

Greg gets his work done in the paint. Not a run and jump athlete either. He's a power guy who uses his size and strength. Overshadowed by playing with Samardo, but took advantage of opportunities to score when Samardo was out. Finishes and doesn't try to do too much. Lunch pail guy.

Check out the last line on Knight. Didn't Jerry Meyer say the same thing about Kendall Marshall a couple weeks ago?
From Rivals:
We also caught two of the better 2010 prospects Brandon Knight and Deshaun Thomas in action.
At 6-foot-4 and athletic, Knight also has a great mind for the game. With a penchant for making the quick, accurate pass, Knight plays an efficiently dynamic game. He also defends well and is a threat to knock down the outside shot. It is definitely hard to imagine a better 2010 point guard prospect in the country.

RDF,
Isn't Thompson the kid that said he wanted to stay out west, but mom wants him to go east and whatever she wants he'll do?

According to Scout:
1. Westchester Hawks vs. The Family
We only caught a snippet of this game and it was probably one 2009 center DaShonte Riley would like to forget. His Michigan-based AAU team was handled by a feisty Westchester Hawks team.
Riley has terrific size but had a hard time gathering and finishing in this one. He struggled inside against a physical Hawks team and finished with zero points and one foul.
2. DaShonte Riley of Detroit Country Day is among the top players in the 2009 class who have caught the eye of the Michigan State University coaching staff. GSN's Pavel Kofman caught up with Riley and talked to him about his summer season, his interest in Michigan State and talked about improving his game prior to his junior season
Using his size in attacking the boards is what has the Spartans as well as Georgetown, Michigan, Ohio State, Kansas State, Kansas and Minnesota all eyeing this rebounding and shot-blocking machine.
Where does Michigan State rank on your list of top schools?
"They are in my top three," said Riley. "There is a lot of history behind the basketball program."

According to Jody Demling--the Hoyas have offered Dunwoody HS in Atlanta, GA forward Chris Singleton who plays for Atlanta Celtics. Got link?

I think he would be a back up in case GM doesn't come.

I think most people have come to the conclusion he will never play college and will go straight to the league.

Word is that Hollis Thompson is down to Gtown and Stanford (which is a new name in the recruitment), with Gtown being the clear favorite. Also, it sounds like he will be playing for a Nike-sponsored AAU team, which also could be a good sign for us.

Also, it sounds like he will be playing for a Nike-sponsored AAU team, which also could be a good sign for us. From the Rivals board... a short excerpt: Thompson, a six foot six inch, 180 pound athletic, Class of 2009 wingman, has been described as being one of the best small forward prospects of his class in the west, as he's capable of shooting, slashing and finishing at a high level. What's more, some observers have noted the rise to prominence has occurred in a very short time for this excellent student at one of the Los Angeles area's most highly regarded high schools, Loyola.According to Rivals, he has offers from UCLA, Stanford and GU.
