Easy, my friend. Let's not turn this into a NorCal-SoCal war. There are a lot of NorCal people on this board, including myself, so watch yourself. Besides, southern California couldn't survive without its better half. That's awesome. I was thinking of the times I heckled you about NorCal when I wrote that. Any kid from Cali is good with me. If he can ball, I say bring him in. But I have to wonder how passing on any local recruits would affect future years as we've started building this local pipeline. Seeing how the last 2 years have gone, I'd be surprised if we end up with more than 1 non-local recruit. We've got the talent in our backyard, time to harvest it and keep MD from getting any.

Without trying to clutter things up, why not tack this to the top of the board like the recruiting list, so that it's always easy to find. I can just see no recruiting info for like a day or two and all of a sudden, this is off the front page and people start making up their own threads again. I just figure if you want us to post in one thread, then keep it in an easy place to find.

Two schollies if Omar is walking on, which I suspect. That said, I bet we have three scholarships come next year when most of these guys are committing. Either through a transfer, someone going pro early or us not using all five this year. I think the cumulative odds of at least one of those happening is well over 50%.

At 6'8" and 295, I'm sure he was the talk of the camp.

MOD NOTE: Links to the 2008 & 2009 Recruits threads can now be found at the bottom of the corresponding tables in the Recruiting/Scholarship pinned thread. Using the board search function for 'recruits' or 'RECRUIT:' should also bring up relevant threads if they fall off the front page. The threads will pop back up whenever there is relevant info to post, this should make them easier to find.

What's the scoop on DaShonte Riley, who attends Chris Webber's HS alma mater, Country Day? Saw him listed at 6'10 1/2", 220 lbs....

from cbssportsline: another Class of 2009 star who proved his worth here at the Peach Jam is a kid named DeShonte Riley.
He's really good too.
"Riley is a 6-9 center who had eight points, 10 rebounds and eight blocks in the title game, this after getting nine points, 14 rebounds and 11 blocks in the semifinals. He plays for The Family and is being recruited by all the big hitters like Michigan State, Michigan, Ohio State, Kansas State and Georgetown."

He's closer to 6'11. He was the same height as Wake commit Tony Woods, who everyone lists as 6'11. Riley is developing and almost had a triple double last night in their loss to the Gauchos. Considered the best big in the midwest by many, he gave me a list of Kansas State, Ohio State, Michigan State and Georgetown. Really likes GU too.

More Riley from Jerry Meyer:
Junior center Dashonte Riley quietly racked up 14 rebounds and 11 blocks. He was a point away from a triple double. The 6-foot-11 prospect had a beautiful turn around jumper over the outstretched arms of Tony Woods

triche is a heck of a player, much better than his uncle. he's a very good team player and has dominated his league (not the most competitive league) since his freshman year. IMO, he's a LOCK for syracuse. no way boeheim lets that kind of local talent get away.

Over heard Fine discussing him at Peach Jam. Correct, no way he gets away from them.
