If they all wanted to come, who'd you take based on need, skills, etc.?

Its early. Won't know until end of summer who is the best player/best fit...
In the 2010 class Gtown takes a PF, SF, SG, and PG. So those things will get worked out.

National Christian Academy will be tough next season. They should be up there with Gonzag and Demtha next year.

yeah. you know some kids will waste time playing video games, while others will work on their hoops game. I expect a lot of Gtowns top 2010 prospects to be at different schools next season(better education/hoops programs).

Just hope the kids transfer to good schools/programs like Gonzaga, Dematha, National Christian Academy, Gtown Prep...
And not to any of the basketball factories like...

say it ain't so balla. You mean they have schools like that in existence? LOL. yeah, there are 2 "schools" that come to mind. One in VA and one in MD. Frankly, I am fine if Gtown never takes a kid from either of those 2 factories. Those type players can go to uconn, cuse, or turtleland. Since 90% of those players will NEVER earn a degree. Let the PIMPS: Tom Delay(Gary Williams), Larry Graig(Boehieme), and Dan Burten(Calhoun) have at them.

it doesn t seem any of the local top talent from 09 are leaning towards playing on the hilltop ( or we aren t pursuing them hard ). is that accurate? are they looking at any other local schools?
and how might that affect the '10 class? with the bodies we have now and coming in, are there enough openings for kids in that class to make us the number 1 option locally?

I wouldn't say that is accurate. We already have a commit from Hollis Thompson, one of the top wings in the country. The whisper is that we lead for DaShonte Riley, one of the top centers in the country. I believe we only have 3 schollies for '09, so if we get those two, we can be "freerolling" for a guard like Lance Stephenson (top pg prospect in the class) or Leslie McDonald, a top 2 guard prospect. Or we can save the scholly for the reportedly MONSTER class in '10. Win-win.

There is one left with Hollis' commitment. I suspect it'd go to DR, if he wants it. There could be another for Leslie or others, but they all seem like contigency plans.

So, for 2009, who is still left on the radar with regards to being actively pursued? If the 2010 class is this strong, who would be taken by the Hoyas from 2009?

As id says, it looks like DaShonte Riley is the #1 target. We also still seem to be pursuing Leslie McDonald. I personally am I big fan of Dante Taylor, but there doesn't seem to be much buzz there. Of course, GU recruiting is notoriously tight-lipped.

John Reik--class of nobody knows except his handler Kimshee He really has been reduced to "zoo attraction" status it seems. Like maybe his handler will let him come out after he's done feeding and play with a ball for a little while if there's a big enough crowd. Any word on what the guy is doing?

RDF, are you comparing Riek to Kamala? I always thought he was from South Philly, not the wilds of Uganda.

Gotta love a thread with a Kamala / Kimshee reference - makes me want to pull up my shirt and slap my tummy.
