NEVER bring up anything I have said in the past!!! My posts are relevant for the instant they appear and not a second longer!!! [Snarky retort: "And sometimes not even that long!" Ba-ZING!] ;D But even as much as I admire Gingrich, I am baffled at how he has come back from the dead. Oh, and on the other topic, someone give me a call when Sasha and Malia get to college (or even upper class in high school). If they don't engage in some underage drinking, I'll eat my laptop.

Is there anyone on this board that has not engaged in underage drinking? If so, let them cast the first stone.

State polls in NH and IA show Gingrich surging. A Romney/Gingrich ticket (in any form) would be strong. Both are talented. Gingrich at least has ideas, and both have enough ideas to have taken every side of every important issue of the last decade. To his credit, Gingrich always has a new/fresh feel to him, when Romney fits the traditional, anointed one model of Republican nominees. I still think this election will look a lot like 2004. In both cases, the status quo (or stay the course) was not exactly ideal, but is better than the alternative. To the extent Gingrich is on the ticket, I'm not sure you'll get the evangelical turnout that you had in 2004, making it more difficult to flip OH and PA.

I just can't see the Republican nominee picking another person from the race, not due to any bad blood, or anything like that, but b/c there are a lot of politicians that aren't running that can help cover for the nominee's weaknesses and Republicans are generally excited about. It's the route that both McCain (Palin was meant to excite the base since McCain didn't) and Obama (Biden was chosen to bring experience to the ticket) went and I don't know why Gingrich or Romney (or Huntsman or whoever) wouldn't also choose to address their weaknesses with their VP pick.

Nominating Gingrich would be disastrous for the Republican part as they would lose big time.

I think it's almost certain to be a battleground state selection. That puts Rubio, Bob McDonnell and Rob Portman at the top of the list for either Gingrich or Romney, IMO. Trying to think if they would pick someone from Pennsylvania, but I just can't see Santorum being asked (and not sure how much he would help), and Toomey is not very exciting.

Dear Nancy Pelosi and David Axelrod, Zip it. Ixnay on the Ashbay Gingrichay. Keep your mouths shut until this thing is over. When someone's giving you a birthday present, you don't question it.

Newt Gingrich has written or cowritten 27 books. He seems too academic for 1600. [/snark]
Only such a learned scholar could come up with his plan for education, nay a "21st century learning system."

Good to see Michelle and the girls get an early, taxpayer funded start on their Hawaiian holiday. The tone deaf nature of this First Lady is staggering. The prime directive for Madame Obama is that she is going to get hers, and you are going to pay for it.

I'm pretty sure the Secret Service would have something to say about any POTUS or FLOTUS flying commercial. Seriously, I do not get the hate some people have for Michelle Obama. You realize the whole "huge Waldorf-Astoria bill" story was a hoax, don't you Elvado?

So you think she's not tone deaf in her approach to vacationing/perking in this economy? Please.
I don't hate her. I don't even know her. I don't like the way she wastes taxpayer money to start vacations earlier than her husband, okay?

So you hate Rick Perry as well? That Editedbag has a giant security retinue for no reason and was constantly traveling overseas on the taxpayer's dollar.

I don't see how anyone could argue with Rick Perry's points. I, for one, will save a pretzel for the gas jets.

If Rick Perry's wife starts going on serial, separate taxpayer funded flights so she can get away earlier on her 17 day vacations, I will hold her actions in equal disrgard. The Presient and his wife love to preach "shared sacrifice". She might want to act on those words once or twice. Just sayin'
