The Voice has a write up and photos of Sunday's action on our blog at here. The enigmatic "Number 4" from your photos is incoming Hoya freshman Jason Clark.

That's what I like about the Mason fans. Maryland fans or WG fans would just downplay our players and pick them apart. Mason fans don't seem to have an agenda either way with our team.
All the area teams have some kind of recent success; only the Mason fans seem to understand that they can enjoy it without tearing other teams down.

WG fans too busy getting down on their own players to criticize GU hoopsters: www.gwhoops.com/Mostly positive, like this: "Saturday update from the Kenner. Roy Hibbert joined The Tombs and played alongside incoming freshmen Greg Monroe and Henry Sims to form the Tri-Towers. I can honestly say that Monroe is better at this point in time than I'm afraid Roy will ever be. Monroe is 6' 10", has a legitimate NBA body right now, and has an array of spin moves that nobody was able to stop. Sims is tall but very thin. Chris Wright was throwing them all some sick no-look passes. Yes, I'd love for us to play Georgetown again, but I'm happy to wait until Mr. Monroe has left."

Of course, there's a backhanded insult of Roy in there, but still, mostly positive...

Mason fans don't seem to have an agenda either way with our team. The same can't be said for the Mason (namely former mason) players insofar as they don't share the ball with our players (See Sapp and Wattad limited touches during Kenner). Nor can the same be said of the M&A coach who has a HUGE Mason agenda. My problem with Kenner league is that it is OUR thing at OUR gym, OUR players should get ALL THE CLOCK THEY WANT so OUR team is ready to go during the season. Sure the same can be said of the other teams (as far as being prepared for the season), but really, look at the makeup of the fans at Kenner. What % would you say are there to watch Tony Skinn jack up 29 shots per game(I may be underestimating that stat) compared to the % of people that want to watch G-town guys BEFORE the season starts? I think they should do away with the 2 returning player rules so ALL the Gtown guys are either on Clydes or Tombs so WE can watch OUR guys PLAY. So what if some Mason guy doesn't get run? I could care less.

Myers & Alterman is the Mason sponsored team. Without Mason, or Towson, or Maryland teams to get run against, we wouldn't have quality opponents. We certainly don't let anyone else get any run on the Tombs.
Kenner is for the players to get run -- attendance has always been a bit secondary and the University is just starting to see it as the promotional tool it's always been.
The NCAA has taken away the easiest solution (Mason v. Hoyas v. WG v. Towson v. American, etc) but there's probably some kind of middle ground.

I think that there are other teams (besides M&A) that the Hoyas could put their players on, but it seems like that choice is made based on a good relationship between the GU and GMU programs, or at least between JTIII and Larranaga.

Belatedly I'd like to thank all who have posted about the Kenner league this year thereby keeping those of us who could not attend up-to-date on what's going on. I'd have to say that, based on the reporting, I'm much more upbeat about the coming year than I was before Kenner. Particularly, can't wait to see Monroe and Clark. Again, thanks all.

The Voice has a write up and photos of Sunday's action on our blog at here. Man, Kenner League "security" is getting soft. Used to be, you so much as take a camera out of your pocket during a game and you'd be somewhere between "severe talking-to" and "lying face down in the Potomac". I took a single photo of the Myers & Alterman team taking their own team photo AFTER the Championship Game last year and I've never seen a DOPS office move so damn fast. The first weekend I went to take photos a DOPS officer got in my face and wouldn't even let me stay in the gym with my camera, even after I stopped taking photos. I had to get permission from Sports Info to take the photos on Sunday for the Voice.

Back to the topic, has the Kenner three-point line been moved to the new NCAA distance?

they have both lines out there ( because the women play in mcdonough they can't just get rid of it). However, I've been confused as to which line the Refs are calling from. I think i've seen them call both lines at different times.

I think i've seen them call both lines at different times. Yeah, it hasnt appeared that the players are conscious of the move. meaning i havent seen any take a step out to be out side the line. But most threes arent taken right at the edge of the old line so, to me, it seems that most payers natural range hasnt been too effected by it, but there are cases where some guys brick shots possibly because they didnt account for the small change in range. overall i think most players will just adjust with out much trouble from just practicing

I was once at a KL game with a friend who pulled out a two-inch monocular to compensate for the fact that he left his glasses at home. Papa John, from the other side of the court, sees this and points him out to security. The security guard rushes over to us and tells my friend that no "cameras" were allowed. Paranoid **********s! Old JT still thinks he's fighting in the Cold War. Glad to see his eyes are still sharp but obviously he and Mr Security had no clue what my friend was actually holding in his hand.

We certainly don't let anyone else get any run on the Tombs. Agreed. The coach of Myers and Alterman has a responsibility to get the Patriots players run, not to worry about how many minutes or touches the Hoya guys get. When Gtown players are sent to non-Tombs or non-Clydes teams they simply have to make the best of the situation and blend in with their new temporary teammates as best as possible. DJ Owens got run with M & A years back and at times you would think he wasn't getting enough shot opportunities either. Of course the problem with Owens was that he never shot the ball enough, even as a starter for Gtown.

The M&A coach has done a horrible job of even getting the younger Mason guys run. Its been dominated by the final four guys (Skinn and Thomas) and hasn't been managed well. At one point I believe I saw him sitting on the bench texting for a span of 16 minutes, NOT ONCE making a sub or saying a word to a player. He's a clown and not a scholar my fine sirs madams. That said...
Why the two returning player rule? I wish they would just put ALL HOYAS on either Clydes or Tombs.
Imagine this year: Tombs- Wright, Clark, Kita, Monroe, Sims Clydes- Sapp, Freeman, Wattad, Summers, Vaughn
Next year, assuming all return and we add no more players, due to the two returning player rule, Hoya guys will be split amongs 5 teams at least.
Tombs: Wright, Kita, Hollis, Dash Clydes: Freeman, Summers Team 3: Wattad, Clark Team 4: Monroe Sims Team 5: Vaughn
not that that is how they would be split, but the point is if Kenner's purpose is about 1) conditioning, 2) "gelling" with your teammates, how is a guy that plays with none of his teammates in Kenner benefitting in either of those aspects, when 1) kenner coaches (i.e. texty mcmason) doesn't play them so its not helping conditioning, and 2) none of your teammates play with you in kenner, so no "gelling" via kenner.
Kenner is a joke IMO, I'd prefer the guys going to Yates and working on drills as if it were a practice (just not with the coaches present). NO violation if no coach involvement and the guys are smart and organized enough to run a simulated practice w/out coaches being there.

wow Kenner is a joke according to hoya"lawyer"
That's bound to be a popular opinion
Look, it's not a zero sum game - playing Kenner is not at the expense of practicing or other activities
