like i said my stats are far from 100% accurate. I definetly assumed austin scored more than what i had him for. I get distracted and miss some plays.

Scotty Reynolds suited up for Hoop Magic last night and was impressive. Hoop Magic plays Tombs today.

Note to Tombs players--get up on Scotty and make him put it on the floor--you'll be fine. Also--anyone with mop--be ready--Scotty stumbles/falls on court more then any player I've seen. That is all.

Hoop Magic did have former Hoya Lonnie Harrell playing for them. The game before the Cylde' game where MAdness All-stars played Heart & Soul was the biggest mismatch talent wise ever...Donte Greene was having his own personal dunk exhibition..kinda unfair with him, Brian Chase, Lonny Baxter, Arinize Onauku.
As for the hoyas games. Clydes somehow lost to Blauguards...who had some guy named Jose Olivera who was killing them, Bobby Maze, vernon hamilton couldnt guard tthe guy off the dribble, then he's just kick out to guys for threes, or just pull one himself off the bounce, they lead by 25 with 14 mins inthe 2nd half, and Clydes had Jeff playing. They made a huge comeback cut it to 4 with 1:30 left, but couldnt make a shot and Jeff couldnt hold on to the ball which must have been slick cause i heard Donte Greene say that after Jeff lost it on a shot that he had porblems with the ball. Austin played well in the 2nd as well as Julian, Jeff almost had the highlight of Kenner with a reverse off an Austin alley-oop. But the 1st half they didnt show up and couldnt hit the broadside of a barn.
Tombs won easily. Chris must be reading the boards.....lol...he was in Steve Nash mode today...I swear i think he took like maybe 6 shots. but had a ton of assists finding everyone oftencause the whole team was in gear running well. -Jason didnt score that much from what i remember. but I dont remember him having too many oppurtinities, just remember him airballing the opening shot and hitting some ft's. Quiet game for him
-Nikita hit his 3's today, looked great. Ran the floor well played great. still not the greatest defensive player but tries hard, all u can ask. -Henry played really well today, but i think it had alot to do with Lonnie harrell guarding him which gave him a 6 inch height advantage. -Greg once again was the best player on the floor. he scored a ton, no numbers, but no one could stop him and once agan hit a right handed hook after a countermove. Rebounded well, dunked on the guy from GW that plays for hoop magic for an and 1. Basically, like i said yesterday I think just playing with better people and seeing how he has to work, maybe the difference. He was outstanding today, looked like a #1 consensus player in the nation today.
Myers and Alterman.. Sapp had an ok game, it was a sloppy affair vs. Beyond Belief. scored id estimate like 8 or 9 points. Wattad was 0-1 from 2 and 1-2 from 3 and was fouled on another 3 attempt and made 2out of the 3 free throws, ...the 1 miss from 3 was uuuuuuuuuugly. But the one he made was 2 possesions after that shot and was pure.

Greg had 23 by my count, and only missed one shot - so 11/12 from the field. He hit 2 jumpers, finished on the break (one nasty dunk), stripped a player and took it in himself for a layup, made a righty hook, backed his man down and layed it in, spun to the baseline and nailed a leaning J, and so on. He also had a nice outlet, an alley-oop to Sims, and a few other nice pass. A bunch of boards and 3 or so blocks too.
He's been the best player on the floor the last 3-4 games he's played, and I'd say along with Austin has been one of the 2 best players in the entire league (at least among teams that have played against Clyde's and Tombs or in between their games).

Greg did look great. The competition wasn't top-notch, but he did almost everything on the offensive end and looked very polished. His midrange jumper is going to give opponents headaches. He got beat a few times on D, but on the whole I was very happy with the way he played.
I thought Chris made some bad decisions in the first half, which resulted in more turnovers than I'd like to see. He was much better in the second half. Like dense said, he didn't shoot the ball much today.
Clark was quiet from a scoring perspective, but he was still very aggressive on both ends of the court. He snagged a couple rebounds away from the trees down low, which you wouldn't expect from a guy of his height and build. I love his speed and aggression.

i think he plays in europe somewhere
nobody could guard him today

After 3 years of talking about, finally journeyed down from Phila to see some games. Lot of changes on campus since 2000 but some things are still the same. On the second floor of Lauinger they still have bound copies of Life magazines from the forties- great history. The Tombs still has those heavy mugs you loved to get back to your dorm room.
Monroe looked awful good to me. I liked the jumper. He and Henry didn't box out well on the defensive end, but hey it's a summer league.
Clydes couldn't throw it in the ocean in the first half and Jose Olivero didn't miss.
Fun trip. Have to do it again next year.

Now that each team only has one more game left, does anyone have the league standings handy? It would be nice to see what the play-off picture looks like. Thanks

Had a chance to catch the Clyde's and Tombs games yesterday. My 2 cents:
- Jeff has sick skills (as if we didn't know that already) - Julian Vaughn looked good. He will probably contribute more to teh Hoyas than Vern ever did/could. -Sims and Monroe. Monroe and Sims. Those 2 guys are gonna be a thorn on the side of every Big East team for the next few years. This is a monster duo in the making. -Jason Clark is F A S T... and REALLY skinny.

So great to hear all these positive reports about Greg. I think so much of our upside depends on his development. I can't wait to see him play again.
Loving the Kenner coverage from the student papers. Some good photos there.

The Voice has a write up and photos of Sunday's action on our blog at here. Man, Kenner League "security" is getting soft. Used to be, you so much as take a camera out of your pocket during a game and you'd be somewhere between "severe talking-to" and "lying face down in the Potomac". I took a single photo of the Myers & Alterman team taking their own team photo AFTER the Championship Game last year and I've never seen a DOPS office move so damn fast.

To echo FLHoya: I definitely saw NickSixers shooting photos with a pretty formidable-looking camera on Saturday. The key, I guess, is to keep the flash off.
