Yeah RDF--no surprise there at all. Kid sounds like a perfect fit for them. In scout article Hairston states he will visit UVA this weekend and Duke next weekend. He will go along with Tyler Thornton, Andrew Dawkins, and Plumlee brothers. Otherwise it is huge duke fluff piece. Article says he does not have any other visits set up. Does not sound good but let's see. Braswell article just says he has 5 visits at maryland (no surprise), indiana (no surprise), xavier, charlotte, va tech.

According to an article in the Cincinnati Enquirer, Tobias Harris was recently in Louisville. "... junior basketball standout Tobias Harris - gave the Cardinals high marks for the visit.
The 6-foot-7 forward from Long Island, N.Y., has the Cardinals listed among his final 10 schools after the visit. He's also looking at Syracuse, Rutgers, Georgetown, Virginia, Maryland, Marquette, West Virginia, USC and Wake Forest"

Brandon Triche narrowed his list to; Syracuse, Georgetown, UConn, and Georgia Tech. Said he'll take 3 visits to Big East schools and maybe visit Tech.
Think we all know where he's likely to end up--but he'll take an official to Georgetown at some point.

I take it Brandon is related to Howard... is this his son? I guess there is something to be said about knowing thy enemy.

update on Hairston from Fredericksburg paper: Rain aids Duke's hunt for Hairston"...At a minimum, Keith Hairston said he hopes Josh leaves Durham with his final two choices in mind.
One school not likely to be in that final two is Ohio State. The Buckeyes have courted Josh Hairston from the beginning, but his father said Columbus, Ohio, may be too far for his family members who live in Martinsville to travel.
He said the only request he and his wife, Natalie, have made of Josh during the recruiting process is that he considers his grandparents, aunts and uncles, who want to attend as many games as possible.
That leaves Virginia, Virginia Tech, Georgetown and Duke as options.
"He probably, in my opinion, will consider those four schools, with Georgetown being on the extreme end for my family down south," Keith Hairston said. "I do think one of those four will end up with his services."...""...Keith Hairston said Josh's timetable for a decision is late October or early November but didn't rule out an oral commitment coming sooner..."

1) it's good to see that we're still in the mix although it doesn't look great. 2) we are 5 hours away from martin's ville where as it's 2 hrs to durham and VT, and 3 hrs to UVA. 3)If we get hairston to midnight madness Then I think we'll get him if not, then well not.

I'd gladly take a 1 in 4 chance to land the kid.

I'd gladly take a 1 in 4 chance to land the kid. It doesn't sound like we have nearly that good a chance of landing him.

While the Dookies host Hairston and Thornton this weekend, and Hoyas are going about things quietly, here's a list of kids who have listed Georgetown that ESPN ranks as top 25 to watch in '11 class:
4. James McAdoo 8. Mike Shaw 9. LeBryan Nash 10. Wayne Blackshear 12. Julian Royal 23. Kevin Johnson 25. Nadir Thorpe--who visited 2 weekends ago.
Now that doesn't mean Hoyas lead or are only looking at those kids--just an example of the type of talent that is being recruited by Georgetown. By time '11 comes around--you will likely see someone like Mike Gbinijye in top 25--and he's high on Hoya radar as well as Chris Martin, Tyrone Johnson, etc....
Shaw is a BIG time guy--who I've heard likes Hoyas--and is from Chicago. He's got guard skills but a forward frame.
Royal is son of former Notre Dame/NBA player Donald Royal.
Thorpe played AAU ball with Nate Lubick and Jason Morris--who have both visited Georgetown and been recruiting targets for a while.
Hoyas big recruiting weekend is going to be Midnight Madness--so we're going to have to be patient.

Hoyas big recruiting weekend is going to be Midnight Madness--so we're going to have to be patient. Who were the big recruit(s) that committed right after midnight madness? Monroe? Freeman? Macklin? I definitely remember at least one big verbal right afterward, but can't recall who it was.

I seem to recall Freemen also citing his Midnight Madness experience as a reason for coming.
