Speaking of beer prices. I will never again buy Verizon Center beer now that the Green Turtle bar is attached to the stadium. Best Invention Ever One reason the prices might be low is to cater to their target crowd--UMCP fans. Green Turtle is a Maryland bar. Keep away.

Id love to see a game like Xavier, a "mid-major" type that plays more like a BCS conference contender (yeah i know that is a football abbreviation). another team like this would be butler or dayton or SIU (though having a down year). these teams are good for sweet sixteen runs and RPI SOS boosts and if they pull an upset its not a bad loss (us beating X right now would be an upset in some analysts minds). Also a team like Vanderbilt, from a major conference and poised to make noise in their league, i.e. Purdue? Arizona? i would love to see those games (not based on style of play but merely on level of competition)

jumping off with a tangent from jgalt's post ( this might be good for another thread) but what are some teams that would be viewed as a big time challenge in terms of SOS, RPI, level of competition, but would in fact be an easy match up for us due to style of play? any thoughts?

I'd love to see a series with UVA. Thoughts?

I'ld like to see a series with Creighton. They are a Jesuit school, usually make the tourney, and they're located close to me.

Play Maryland on a neutral court. We did. In the NCAA Tournament. They should suck it up and do a home-and-home.

I'd love to see a series with UVA. Thoughts? We totally screwed up that home-and-home a few years ago. When we hosted them it was deep into Christmas break, so there were virtually no Georgetown fans there, let alone students, while every wahoo that came home to see mom and dad for the holidays was here in force. Hoyas essentially played two road games in the series

A friend of mine was an assistant coach at the University of San Francisco a few years back, and he said that they were tossing around the idea of hosting an all Jesuit schools tourney with teams like Gonzaga, Creighton and Georgetown. I don't know how serious their discussions got, but it the idea obviously didn't go anywhere. I think that would be an interesting early season tournament, though.

That jesuit tourney idea is one i like- it brings together schools from a whole bunch of conferences and would have some big names (the ones you listed). i would love to gtwon in some kind of pre-season tourney, i think they really give teams national exposure (good for recruiting out side the east) and give the team lots of experience with out using many games on the schedule (because i think they only count as one game)
