I anticipate a simillar game. Fordham has really underachieved. They were expected to be good this year, but have not played well and it will just get worse when the A10(14) season starts with the A10 being much improved with the exception of WG. who knows maybe i'm wrong and fordham will right the ship. they're 6-5 with losses to missouri, syracuse, charleston, robert morris, and UNC greensboro, best wins: i dunno take your pick of colombia, manhattan, and hofstra. nothing too impressive.
their tallest player is 6'10 is averaging 3.7 mins and 0pts. their leading scorer is 6'8 forward bryant dunston, their next two leading scorers are two guards stout, and butler. next two scoring threats both averaging about 8pts a game are G mike moore and 6'8 F sebastian greene. They play a senior named anderson a lot but he's only aveaging 3pts in his 27 minutes meanwhile moore a freshman is averaging 8 in 18 minutes. seems like they need more moore and less anderson.
moore is shooting 58% form 3 on 31 attempts stout is 35% on 66 attempts and butler is 34% on 62 attempts. 15.5 TO/g and 13.6 ast/g 8.4 stl/g 3.7blks/g

I am in the rather unique position of having my High School FP and Law School FL playing my College GU The last time I can remember playing the Rams was at home in McDonough in 1969. We won and I think it was considered an upset. Regardless go hoyas

Fordham has to be one of the most disappointing teams in college basketball this year, although you'd have to be a pretty serious fan to make that distinction. With five seniors back, coming of an 18-12 season where they went 10-6 in the A-10, they have flopped. They were down by 30 at one point against Missouri; the Syracuse game wasn't close, and they have lost head scratchers to mediocre teams like Robert Morris and UNC Greensboro at home.
Whittenberg turned the team around after the Bob Hill fiasco, this was supposed to be the year the Rams made a run to the postseason. While Whitt's teams have typically played much better in the A-10 than the pre-conference season, this year the A-10 is way too strong and Fordham is probably headed to a losing year, forget an NIT bid. They probably would have gotten an NIT bid last year had the format not changed.
Dunston has been a starter and a terrific player since freshman year. Kevin Anderson is their point guard and doesn't score alot. They have some size - this isn't Fairfield or Ball State - and have certainly played and beaten some good teams over the last three years with this group of seniors. These seniors have beaten teams like Temple, Xavier, and St. Joes in their careers at Rose Hill; they do play markedly better at home than away historically, which makes this year's performance all that more disappointing.
Fordham has enough experience and talent to make this a real game, but I doubt it. For whatever reason their team chemistry seems to have gone to pot and I don't see it coming back against a team as disciplined as Georgetown.

ah that explains why anderson plays so much. that's the problem with just analyzing of the numbers.

Is this game really not being picked up anywhere?
I mean Fordham's not great but they're not Fairfield. A 6-5 A-10 team versus a top ten Big East team and there's no chance at any coverage?

Is the coach the same Whittenburg of the NC State fame? That would be him. He reputedly turned down the NC State job that his DeMatha and college backcourt partner, Sidney Lowe, accepted.

Who the heck scheduled this nonsense? Jonathan Wallace is most likely going to break Kevin Braswell's 3-pt record today and I'm going to miss it because of stupid work. I guess I'll have to settle for Rich's coverage of the record breaker. WALLACE FOR THREE!! WALLACE FOR THREE!! WALLACE FOR THREE!! MY GOD, WALLACE FOR THREE!!

It is the same Whittenberg. He started his head coaching career at Wagner before being hired at Fordham.
I never heard he turned down the NC State job; at the time that job kicked free, the year before last, Whitt hadn't really had a good year at Fordham - last year was his first - and I didn't think he was a strong candidate. Lowe hadn't actually been a coach and, perversely, presented a cleaner slate.
WFUV 90.7 in NY does a nice job of covering Fordham games for those in the NY area, and it is also on line I believe if you can't get the feed from Georgetown.
