Hey -- as the only "chick" here, should I be taking this as a personal attack?

Hey -- as the only "chick" here, should I be taking this as a personal attack? Suz, around page 11 or so I posted about the qualities of band girls. If you didn't get offended by that, a mention of boobs really shouldn't offend you.

Jizzy Crizzy! SIXTEEN pages! More importantly, 6,500-plus views!
(which is why this far outpaces the NHL thread, which is really only about 6 people talking back and forth)
Hey Dan, DFW & WBH. . .Any chance of moving this back over to the main board just for game days only?
Boobies! Chris, stop that! Boobies! Chris! Boobies! -ZAP- How did you like the zoo? Elephants are bigger in person!

Hey -- as the only "chick" here, should I be taking this as a personal attack? You all are reading too far into this. There is no hetero-normativism. This is not a personal attack on women. All I said was boobies. I think that pretty much speaks for itself.

Gorillas. Those guys in gorilla suits that do halftime dunking tricks off those little trampolines? Yeah, now THAT'S entertainment. Everyone loves monkeys, right? Now if you can train them to chase the band chicks around ... well, they are really people so it shouldn't be too hard ... that would be a ripping good show.

Despite the 15 pages of discussion on this, I still have one unanswered question about last Wednesday's exhibition. My friend and I watched and reflected on the performance but could not understand one thing: Why was the fiddle chewing gum? Was this to signify the stickiness of her situation? Was it a reference to Dante's inferno in which the greatest of sinners are lodged in the devil's jaws? Was it a metaphor for humanity's eternal struggle against sin and temptation? Or did it help her keep time with the music? I hope we see more from the ballroom dancers next season. Any halftime show that generates this much buzz should be back. 16 pages. 16 pages and finally something like this emerges, like a butterfly from its cocoon. Bravo, Sir. Je3, you are a true American hero. As for your hope that the ballroom dance "team" comes back next year -- I seriously doubt it. I don't think "coach" will subject his "kids" to any more of our "homophobic" abuse -- he prefers the sweet, sweet misogynistic abuse of pregnant women. Just kidding! (That's the way it works, right YB, you can say something absolutely debasing and horrible about a pregnant woman, but as long as you follow it with "Just Kidding", and a smiley emoticon, all is forgiven, right? I just want to make sure I have the rules straight -- you thin skinned hypocrite. Just Kidding!!

Suzhoya93 is a big, hormonal slob who's about to punch out a horribly ugly kid!!!! Just kidding. No hard feelings? Can we all agree to just be Hoya fans now and focus venom on the OUTSIDE world, Yukon, Vanillanova, etc? In case anyone missed what my DELAYED response was to. I gave myself a few days to cool down before responding.

Don't worry, HoyaLawya, that's just a clogging-related quote from an HBO episode of Tenacious D, a comedy rock duo of Jack Black and Kyle Gass. Hoping someone would get it, guess not. Rest assured, I am in no way part of any Satan worshiping cult in the Bay Area. And SCU is a fine school, about 5 minutes from my high school, Bellarmine College Prep. I did cross country and track there, and we'd sometimes do runs through the Santa Clara campus. Since Bellarmine was an all-guys school, there was always nice "scenery" at Santa Clara, if you know what I mean. I know a lot of people that go there, it's a nice school, my dad recently got his MBA from there. Velvet Elvis, isn't "Simple Man" a Skynyrd song? Or maybe they're different songs that have the same title. 15 pages, yeah! Do we have what it takes for 20? How fitting that three-word posts of "Bump. For boobies." have been popping up in the thread between CaHoya07's response and my reply. Anyway ... since my h.s. senior is a GUY, I kind of think that the aforesaid "scenery" might have been more than just a fleeting attraction of the Mission Campus on our visits. Although he tells me that it's really the sterling "academics" and the fine "athletics" .... yeah, right. As for lines like "Hey want to be on the Hoya Blue Website?" .... wow! Bet that lights up a great conversation in the watering holes along M Street. In Cali-Land -- where "you are what you drive" -- I get the impression that it's the wheels that do all the talking. Now ... back to the last unanswered question. What WAS the fiddle doing, chewing gum? Where is YB when you need him, for the answer to this basic existential question?

Wow. I go away for a couple days, only have time to post once or twice while on the road, and i missed this? Perhaps the most meaningless, stupid, asinine, yet killer post of all time? Sweet Jeebuz.
My two cents:
1) I was the first to question the Ballroom Dancing PRE-game, and I stand by that questioning. On the one hand, its simply not the crowd. You have to expect cat-calls and booing in such a "testosterone-filled" environment. On the other hand, I love that other GU groups are getting exposure besides Groove Theory (which is starting to get repetitive), and the horrible dance/cheer squads that use up otherwise valuable tickets and aren't worth putting on national TV like other schools do.
2) The band... all I know is during my time on The Hilltop I was able to get on a CBS broadcast because they finally (in my junior year) let me conduct a song. It was glorious. Coast2Coast can vouch for this. I'm sure I was on the tube because of my stellar conducting skills, but i think my blue-and-gray Cat In The Hat lid, and Lithuania tye-dyed shirt under my Othella jersey had something to do with it.
3) Guru... your "Gunga... gunga la gunga" post was glorious.
4) Now that I'm on board, this thread has 25+ page potential. How do I know? Because Charlie Daniels once wrote, according to Wikipedia, "Just take them [rapists, killers, child abusers] out in the swamp / Put 'em on their knees and tie 'em to a stump / Let the rattlers and the bugs and the alligators do the rest."[/b]

Just pushing folks to become one with nature. Is there a limit to his genius?

No offense, Suz, but women don't belong in a discussion about a man's sport like basketball.
"If the Bible has taught us anything — which it hasn't — it's that girls should stick to girl's sports like hot oil wrestling, foxy boxing and such and such."[/b]

I have no comment on this issue...other than to say this the only thing probably more embarassing than participating in ballroom dancing at a Georgetown basketball game, is to get iced Dante Hall "X" style by your grandmother in beirut.

Thank you so much for referring to that sport of kings by its proper name, 'Bridge. It's called "Beirut" for a reason, people. The beirut is a specific move you can pull off to pre-emptively win a (ugh) "beer pong" match. Hey Suz, try this one on for size: "This IS Marge's bra... I bought it for her boobs!!!"

(It's a good thing I was offline for awhile when that was originally posted...) Suz, I have a soft spot in my heart for pregnant women (and no patience for thin skinned hypocrites) -- we have a 19 month old and a 2 month old. Both boys -- they currently spend their waking hours trying to kill their parents. If anyone referred to my wife as a "hormonal slob" or either of my kids as a "horribly ugly kid", I'd punch them in the throat. Ballroom dancer or not. Don't even get me started on referring to labor and delivery as "punching out a kid". Good luck with your baby -- don't let the babies on this board get you down! Keep posting! Let us know when the baby comes!
