That does it. If this team gets anything short of a national championship we all know who to blame! As I've said previously, if I wear my Kurt shirt on game day, the Hoyas win. If not, they lose (witness the three game losing streak where I wore other GU apparel before wising up to the real truth). As for thread location, I bow to the will of the people but I cannot say which ones. I'll give McQ some credit here. This thing veered off the topic of Hoya basketball about 12 pages ago, shortly after suzhoya got home form the Rutgers game...

The ones with no sense of humor, clearly. Way to go, McQ. You just ruined the whole postseason. To paraphrase "The Family Guy Movie"... "Edited - bag! Edited - bag! Edited - bag!"

Wow -- so many insulting comments, so little time to appropriately respond to them all! It's amazing what one post can do for a girl's reputation, I tell you. I am going to assume that they were all meant in good fun, and not take issue with them--except for the LIE comment -- which was actually a running joke back when I was at GU - that, and the what exit of the Turnpike for those unfortunate Hoyas from Jersey... Let's just leave it at the fact that you are identified as "Spotsylvania", YB. ;D
Sorry to disappoint, but not in labor yet. Although I agree with whoever posted about that pages back, that would have been the half-time show of the century. And can you imagine the camera angles on the Jumbotron in MCI?? ;D ;D ;D That would be the best ad for abstinence GU could ever wish for (has the administration finally given in and allowed condoms to be sold on campus???)
I actually took some of the sage advice that was posted about the halftime shows in general -- I took that opportunity to get up from my seat and visit the restroom rather than sit and watch everything. Although from what I did see, and the husband reported back to me, the dance team did a nice job. By the way, if anyone feels the need to use the "family bathroom" on the 200 level of MCI, resist the urge and keep walking. "Family bathroom" seems to be a euphemism for Edited all over the seats and don't flush the toilets....

I smell a conspiracy to force more people to visit the 37th and O board...
So far, it's working - 5 people viewing it at this very moment, when the most I usually see viewing this forum is 1 or 2.
*Now (2 minutes later) 7 people are viewing - at this pace, it'll surpass the popularity that the basketball board experienced when Austin Freeman was committing.*

It's already 2 (now 3) posts ahead of the Pro Sports "NHL" thread. I'm sure Buffalo is heartbroken that Ballroom Dancing and Charlie Daniels have exponentially greater interest than pro pucks. I guess this means we can look forward to seeing Ballroom Dancing instead of the NHL on the Outdoor Life Network.

You insult the airline industry.
Fear of the unknown. What if this thread were stop? Would the Hoyas lose to USF? Would mankind as we know it cease to exist? Would we be unable to find another place to waste our precious time for the sake of pure inanity?

So I've been to the board a bunch over the last few days, and I guess for whatever reason I had just sort of missed this thread. So what other choice did I have but to sit here for the last however many minutes and read through the whole thing...
Anyway, with Jehovah as MY witness (Hi HoyaSox), can I just say, WHYYYYY THE HELL WAS I OFF GETTING BEER DURING HALFTIME OF THE RUTGERS GAME??!?!
That decision is seriously going to plague me for the rest of my days. Wow.
Also, props to the mods - vacation or no vacation, I was SHOCKED this thread didn't get locked and/or moved circa Page 2. Well played, sires.

this will drive traffic to 37th/O, which is a good thing. Unless we're talking about automobile traffic, or the Metro and its cast of undesirables. In that case I say NIMBY.

If this is considered to be one of the worst half-time contests by this board, then what would other close seconds be?

If this is considered to be one of the worst half-time contests by this board, then what would other close seconds be? Speaking of people who narrowly escaped missing the performance cause they were gonna get a beer. The answer to your question is: the dude that was twirling/juggling the thing shaped like an arrow at the NIT game in McD last year, to the tune of "Caught Up" by Usher. You know what though--dude totally owned it, had the shirt advertising himself and this glazed-over "Screw you guys, they paid me in hot dogs before I went on so I don't give a crap if you boo" grin on his face.

As a regular half time beer drinker, let me recommend the Acela Club. I have passes with my season tickets, but no one ever checks them. The beauty with the Acela Club is that you can buy a beer and nearly simultaneously watch the half time show. In other words, it is the best of both worlds. It was up there, from a safe distance, that I witnessed the the ballroom dancing fiasco. With many other fellow drinkers around me, I was able to participate in a real time community thrashing of the show.

Let me also add that moving this thread to 37th & O is a terrible, terrible move. The halftime show is part of the friggin' basketball game experience. This could not be more on topic. This is just meaningless and meanspirited censorship. The moderators are clearly ballroom dancers.

"Mojo, what have they done to you?!?!?!"
"PRAY FOR...MOJO!"
Dan, I support the mods as always, but I am troubled by this move. Deeply, deeply troubled.
But at least you didn't lock it.
I will pray for mojo.
