PK's comments seem to be prophetic. Jeff is in, team makes a comeback, they pull him for Wilkins and the Pistons extend their lead. Jeff needs to be in the game.

This isn't a blowout. Let's see if Jeff can give the Sonics their first win!

I don't really understand PJ Carlesimo. Just as it seems Jeff is really turning it up a notch, they take him out of the game. After 19 against the Jazz and 15 in the first half tonight, his minutes will actually decline. Doesn't really make sense. He has only missed one shot in the second half tonight, hasn't turned the ball over, or committed a foul. He grabbed three boards. What gives?

Sonics lose again. Jeff not in there for at least the last six or so minutes.

PJ has been doing this. It Editedes me off that he still plays Wilkins a ton. I've been following the Sonics all season. They are somehow able to stay in games but PJ makes crazy decisions. WHY would you take out Jeff after he puts up 17 and 8 through 3 qtrs!?! Jeff was key to getting a 20 pt lead trimmed down to 5. Why take him out and substitute Damien "I think I'm Jordan" Wilkins?!
Disappointing and extremely frustrating.
EDIT - Btw Jeff was +14 whereas Wilkins was a team worst -25. -25!!!!

jeff has only played what, five? six games? he's a rookie. if this is any indication, he has a long, illustrious NBA career ahead of him. can you really blame PJ for wanting to put the ball in the hands of veterans towards the end of the game, instead of a kid who hasn't played many meaningful minutes in any NBA game at all? football teams who draft quarterbacks don't just throw them under center from day 1...

The problem is that you want to win games and Sonic guards are not the way to do it.

Yes. I can blame him. The leading scorer on this team is a rookie, and that same rookie takes the most shots. Damien Wilkins has shown that he's much more likely to make a mistake than Jeff, and PJ's refusal to acknowledge this is costing the Sonics games.

True, but PJ did have Jeff play the last 10 or so minutes vs. the Jazz where he scored 6pts in the clutch and played tough vs. Boozer and AK.

The reason I would blame him is that everyone knows this is a throw-away season for the Sonics anyway. This whole season is about developing the rookies. Durant gets the attention, but Jeff needs his time too. And when you have a game where he's the hot hand, he's feeling good, why not leave him in? When will he get meaningful crunch time minutes if it's not in a game where he's the team's leading scorer (and during a season when they're poised to go 0-every game they play).

This is the second straight game the Sonics have been tied with less than a minute to go and turned the ball over twice before taking a shot. The guys P.J. has out there are trying to make plays they cannot make. Jeff is one of those rare players who thrive in those situations.

Yea apparently he missed the BET and NCAA tournament. Oh well hopefully they will have some down to the wire scrimages in practice so he will have a chance to prove himself.

The only reason the Sonics were in the game late was becaus the refs gifted them on a lot of dubious calls on the Pistons, but its nice to see that Jeff converted on all of his foul shots. I also noticed that Jeff was being more assertive and calling for the ball on transition plays. Also, props to whoever was wearing a 22 jersey behind the hoop

I watched and recorded the game. Jeff played almost the entire 3rd and 4th quarters. He was taken out with out 4 minutes to play. He actually looked gassed at that point. My other observation is that he does much better when Ridnauer is in there. He is an excellent and recognizes when Jeff has position.

Not to nitpick, but Jeff enter the game with 7:39 remaining in the third quarter and finished the quarter and then was pulled with 8:14 left in the game, not returning after that. So I guess he played a hair under 12 minutes in the second half...not what I would expect from someone who notched 15 and 5 in the first half, but whatever.

After last night's game, Jeff's season averages are up to 10.4 points and 4.4 rebounds in 20 minutes a game. Getting closer to my expectations, and I trust all the numbers will go up-including the PT (yes, PJ will finally figure out Jeff deserves more). Somewhat disappointed with assists-.3 a game. Seems to be controlling the turnovers.

I love that on ESPN, I've now seen Tony Dungee about a half dozen times talk about a time-out, and Bret Favre wants more balance in the Packers offense. But the Sonics highlights lasted all of....20 seconds. During that time, I saw Durant dunk the ball and Wally hit a meaningless 3. No mention of the team's leading scorer.
Not to say there's anything at all intentional about it. In fact, the media has shown Jeff a lot of love. I just get frustrated by the highlights.

Damien Wilkins is a black hole. He's not the only one (Wilcox, ahem), but man, he's simply awful. He's shooting no matter what.

If you do not want to pay, just go to NBA.com. They always post good highlights of each game within about an hour of the games finish. With all of the different sports media outlets, there is not much need to watch ESPN/Sportscenter anymore. www.nba.com/

And Durant was the leading scorer for the Sonics during the game. He took it with a dunk at the end of the game
