Jeff was ballin tonight against Utah. He had 19pts. This was the most minutes that I have seen him play this year at about 30min. The Sonics are a much better team with Jeff on the floor. He still needs to protect the ball better when he is in the post(defenders strip the ball from him), but this kid can flat out play. Never had any doubt. Based on the comments by Chandler and others as well as the observation of JT and JTIII I knew he'll be fine so I wasn't going to work myself up like I did with Sweetney. Still he'll get to Big Time when he puts the final touches on that handle, when he develops a decent technique to help him shoot better off the dribble and when he starts sticking those threes. He should be a gym rat for the next two to three years.

Given the way Seattle's season is going, is it possible that Jeff and Roy may be re-united next year?

He also needs to improve his defense. He got bodied a few times by Boozer (but could score on Boozer fairly easily) and got driven past several times when he ended up on smaller, quicker guys. He did take a charge late in the game. The effort is there on defense, but it seems like he needs to develop a better strategy against guys who are faster than he is, because he will likely be guarding quite a few of those guys.

MCI,
I like Delonte' West, who I think is underrated. Good size, plays solid D and can hit the open J.

I like him, but he is not the guard who will be helping to take them to the next level. Although he could carve a nice role on the team. That St. Joe's backcourt of West and Jameer Nelson was pretty damn good.

The Worldwide Follower recap of Sonics/Jazz gives Jeff some love:
Maybe Durant should adopt more of the approach of fellow rookie Jeff Green, though Green's relentlessly slashing style is not the game at which Durant is most comfortable right now.
Green, Seattle's fifth overall pick, had an early career-high 19 points off the bench while fearlessly banging into bigger bodies for the young, remade Sonics, who are starting their 41st and perhaps their final season in Seattle in a way that has many locals wishing they were already gone.

MCI, I like Delonte' West, who I think is underrated. Good size, plays solid D and can hit the open J. Delonte will be playing in the NBA for probably the next eight years. And he could indeed start for some teams (including the current Sonics). But he won't likley ever be an elite point guard. He's more of a combo that can handle some pg responsibility.

The sonics will start playing Jeff more at the 4 spot, and have Wilcox/Collison playing more 5. Jeff can play the 4 against any team in the west except San Antonio.

Jeff has 15 points, 5 rebounds, and a block at halftime, but Pistons up on Seattle 64-52.

The Sonics are down big at the half against Detroit, but the lone bright spot has been Jeff. A
According to Yahoo, Jeff has 15 points (5-5 from the charity stripe) in 13 minutes of play. Also has five rebounds and one block.
Obviously, I've been keeping track of the box score, so I can't comment on how he actually looks. But the numbers look awesome, and he has helped engineer a Sonics' mini-run.
GO JEFF - HOYA SAXA!

Jeff's +/- is +9, per NBA.com. KD's, by contrast, is -14. I am becoming more and more convinced that Jeff is their second best player and should absolutely be starting.
I'm DVRing the game, and plan to watch post-Lauinger. Perhaps some more detailed comments then.

Hahaha, looks like we were all gonna post at the same time. I'm actually watching the game, its on NBAtv, and I think jeff looks great. Free throws are dropping and he picked up a terrible pass from Ridnour and finished for a score on a gorgeous play that had the announcers raving. Also had a nasty putback dunk.
EDIT: Kevin Durant is super talented, but he's settling way too often for a long three. By far his best work comes from when he slashes, he needs to be more aggressive. (More aggressive does not mean shooting more.)

Jeff really does look great. Much better than in the first game i saw him against Denver, which is to be expected. He looks so much more comfortable out there.

I'm following play by play online. Jeff drew two shooting fouls on Rasheed Wallace and made the free throws. Was he matched up on Wallace or was Rasheed helping on those plays?

Watching the game. Jeff looks great. Damien Wilkins is a momentum killer/black-hole. He just sucks the game out of his teammates. The Seattle announcers are raving about Jeff's energy. PJ decided to keep him on the bench after halftime. Let's see how much PT he'll get from here on out.
