Martin is listed as a 6'2 guard. But as a 2011 class member, doesn't that make him a freshman? In other words, 6'2 as a HS freshman would suggest he still has quite a bit of growing ahead of him. Another Hoya Kid! Gotta love that.

Both play for DC Assault. Thorton attends Gonzaga, while Martin goes to St. John's College.

Thorton has the potential to be the next great Gtown guard, and Lil Martin will be a baller. They both have a lot of work to do, but the talent is there.

Let's not be one of those programs that is all over 14 year olds. I understand the need to track them young, but a lot of these kids don't pan out and to follow 14 year olds just seems ridiculous. I would suggest a board rule of no one who can't drive is allowed to be discussed on the board?

ColumbiaHeightsHoya, I don't think it's thaaaat aggressive. They aren't So Cal kids, they are ones in our own backyard. Thorton went to our coach's high school here in DC, and the other is only 10 minutes away and the son of one of our greater alums. And Thorton can drive.

I just don't care to hear about 14 yo recruits...I agree with the "too much sht can happen btw now and signing a LOI" - it seems kinda skeevy not to mention that the #5 team in the country is opening up in less than 2 weeks, and all this Board can generate are some threads on high school freshmen? weak sauce. also, wasn't there a movement to consolidate all these recruits into one thread based on their hs graduation year? what happened to that? there are too many of these random threads titled with kids' names... Perhaps you would like to contribute something meaningfull. There are dozens of threads. Find one that interest you, or start your own.

I thought it was cool, because of the Billy Martin connection. Thanks, ID!

the reason i make the point above is because these threads are too large in number and knock important threads about the current team off the front page way too quickly...it was the reason we had a consolidated recruit thread by class - my question still stands - what happened to that format?

Did not know that you were the judge of what threads are important to everyone. There are about 20 threads on this board and usually 2-5 of them are about prospects. It is not difficult to find threads that you deem important.

well you are getting defensive because you are Jonathan Recruiting Guy and posting on the Board about these 14yo's makes you feel like your life is worthwhile. And hey, I'm all for that. I am not trying to marginalize you Johnny Recruiting -- i just don't understand why we deviated from the agreed-upon format of having recruits in one thread per grad year.
