well we want them to go, but we also don't want people wasting tickets. We may be getting to the point that enough people will want to come to every game. We want the people who will be there for the majority of games. I think it's hard for hard core fans to take into consideration the mind set of the less intense fans.
Obviously we want all the fans we can get. But i'd rather season tickets went to people who were commited to going to the overwhelming majority of games. people who only want to go to a select few games should just get single game tickets.
I don't think there's any system that will alienate someone. No system will be completely fair to everyone. People will always find some aspect to complain about.

In fact, in terms of wanting the most students there, the diehards should get screwed (they'll go anyways) and we should cater to those on the fence! Yikes!! Someone cut him off!! haha

Someone cut him off!! haha I was joking, Hoyastrong. But this is how professional teams think of things. Diehards come almost no matter what. Almost all promotions, etc., are targeted at the marginal customers. That's why there's canned music, dot races, such a huge emphasis on food and drink, etc. at sporting events. Die-hards hate most of these things (except food and drink, of course) and often wonder why ownership would alientate their core. It's because they aren't alienating them enough to make them stop coming. Obviously, no professional team takes it so far as to disadvantage the die-hards in terms of tickets. On the other hand, they get to set outrageous prices. With so many capitalists at GU, why no suggestion of breaking up the sections and pricing to test your die-hardness?

It shouldn't happen at a college because profit is not the end all like it is in pro sports. But it isn't unheard of.
